That's complete bullshit. You're letting your hate for the United States military taint your thinking. Nobody is given anything in the military. It's a merit based system. No person in the military is just given the jobs of ATC, pilots, missile techs or cooks unless they can pass the requirements.
Lie as much as you like, but service in the US military, diplomatic corps, CIA or any of the other alphabets serving our nation are not equal to Liberal Welfare Recipients.
As for "leveraging" anything, that's done on the back of the person doing it. Uncle Sam didn't open any doors for him or me. We opened those doors ourselves through dutiful service to our nation. Quid Pro Quo. Uncle Sam got what he wanted and we each got what we wanted. God Bless America!
