The felons from Jan 6 should never legally carry a gun again.

When i'm using the term 'ignorant' in this particular context and thread, it's not being used as an insult.........I'm really seeing that you truly are not understanding how the whole subservient military role is played in respect to being controlled by civilians in office. So, my apologies if you feel insulted by my use of the word in this thread/context.

Throwing civilian officials under the bus for the military's consistent failures to protect us this century is weak fucking sauce.

Here's what I know about the Marines based on 20+ years living as an adult in America:

They didn't protect us on 9/11
They didn't protect us from the anthrax attacks
They didn't protect us from the DC sniper
They didn't protect us from natural disasters
They didn't protect us from foreign hackers
They didn't protect us from a virus
They didn't protect us from mass shooters
They didn't protect us from insurrectionists
They didn't protect our elections from foreign meddling
They didn't even get OBL

What is the budget for the Marines, anyway?

Since they haven't once protected us from any of the threats to this country in the 21st century (and for most of the 20th century), why do we still have them and why are we still giving them hundreds of billions of dollars that could go to health care, education, or cleaning up the environment instead?

Neither did you. What's the budget for you anyway?

If you are interested in the true workings of how the military is used and what it's role is and why they couldn't possibly do what you expected them to in the way you expected them to i'm happy to explain it to you. just let me know.

I'm not interested in your perspective.

This is a non answer.

I'm not sure how much clearer I can make "well regulated".

What do you want, specific regulations? If so, you should have just fucking asked for that instead of leaving it up to me to read your small mind.

please articulate an answer demonstrating you understand what the term "Well regulated" means.

So you demand accommodation in bad faith without offering anything to me to make it worth my while and time.

I'll articulate an answer demonstrating what I think "well regulated" refers to the moment you admit you made up all that shit about living in NY/NJ/CT/wherever

So then why do you apply 18th century thinking to government but not to anything else in your personal life?

This is also a topic that I wonder if it's plain ignorance (just not knowing) or true willful disinterest because it doesn't work the way someone feels it should.......

The Constitution does not provide us our rights. they are inherent for being human. The Consitution is a legal document that sets the framework for the federal government. Prescribes them their powers and the limitations of those powers.

It's not very difficult to follow what was meant and/or intended with the entire document, especially the bill of rights. There are many commentaries and debate papers on all of it. It's also very important to remember that these were explained, in detail, to the colonists and their representatives for ratification.

They made that document difficult to change for good reason, so that new government couldn't play on fears of the public for more power.

limiting the federal government isn't 18th century thinking, it's about maintaining the security of a free state.

Neither did you.

It's not my fucking job.

It's theirs.

Isn't that what we're paying them $1T a year for?

Or is that really just a $1T annual jobs program for people so pathetic and unskilled, they couldn't get a job in the private sector without years of government employment and training?

The constitution gives the fed the right to provide for the general welfare of the people, if banning certain weapons promotes the general welfare it’s constitutional

negative, ghost rider. The 2nd Amendment, which came AFTER the Constitution, clearly states 'SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED'. There is also documentation that stipulates that 'general welfare' doesn't mean anything and everything not already covered

Throwing civilian officials under the bus for the military's consistent failures to protect us this century is weak fucking sauce.

who orders the military? the commander in chief. that's not throwing civilians under the bus, that's just explaining the way things are.

Either way, you had a comfortable desk job, while demanding others show you deference and honor for your self-styled heroism.
He isn't.
Thousands of civilian air traffic controllers do their job every day without strutting around demanding people confer honor and respect on them.
Then you have never flown. I've come across plenty of civilian air traffic controllers that demand exactly that. They generally deserve it, too. Some pilots can be real assholes or idiots at times. Just listen to ground control at JFK sometime as an example.
My brother was a commissioned officer and had a job sitting on his ass at a desk for the U.S. military - to my knowledge, he never strutted around demanding anyone defer to him for supposedly heroic military service.
No one is demanding that. You are hallucinating.

Yes you did, liar.

No, I said I hated YOU; YOU are not the military.

I said I was "over the Military", and gave several reasons why...the least of which being that they didn't protect us on 9/11, 1/6, or anytime in between.

I said I was sick of the military, sick of the entitlement, sick of the wasted money, sick of all of it.

But mostly, sick over their inability to perform their sole job function.

You hate everyone except yourself.

What a fucking crybaby. Grow up.

You are truly weird.

I'm not the one with multiple socks on JPP because people are constantly making me eat shit.
