Everyone sees how deregulation has destroyed the Texas power grid.
So what is California's excuse?
Everyone sees how deregulation has destroyed the Texas power grid.
Where is the legislation? Anyone can support anything. West is not an elected politician.
you must have missed this:
Texas Republicans endorse legislation to allow vote on secession from US
State’s part chairman, Allen West, is latest Republican to come out in support of declaring Texas an independent nation

How serious do you take this attempt to secede? Less than Hillary Clinton becoming President? More?
Everyone sees how deregulation has destroyed the Texas power grid.No. We are paying for the higher cost of harm to the environment because California's electrical grid sucks ass. Like everything else in that state.
Where is the legislation for California secession?
And you didn't ask for ELECTED politicians the first time.
Now though, you want to move the bar.
I don't take it seriously at all, because I understand the law will NEVER allow Texas to secede.
Sadly, many Texans are ignorant of the law and they believe Texas can secede anytime they like.
I am not moving the bar. You are just angry for being caught bullshitting like a typical democrat.
Let's be honest, all that touchy-feely stuff includes a lot of bullshit. Amirite?![]()
I don't think its fair for tax payers to once again have to bail out this anti government, want to leave the Union, anti everything American, but MONEY HICK STATE. Why should any of us have to pay for their utility bills, that they themselves benefited with low payments for years until the shit hit the fan???? And to reward utility companies with our hard earned tax dollars bc they failed to service their failing infrastructures????? This whole ordeal with Texas is nothing but a free financial windfall off the sweat and toil of hard working tax payers and its not right.
I am sick and tired of these Red states, who get more in federal welfare than any state in the union, in a constant state of handouts from tax payers, who pay nothing near the taxes most of us pay. In my opinion, this should be a teachable moment for Texans. I say let them bail their ownselves out of this mess and maybe just maybe, next time they go to the voting booths, they'd think about voting for ppl, WHO AREN'T ANTI GOVERNMENT......
True, though I would not count AZ as a Red State anymore. Thing is the rant was about Texas and it is rated as 34th , so what we have is more painting using a broad brush, and there is an assumption which is incorrect.
Where is the legislation for California secession?
Agreed. It's silly. I don't understand why there are people even suggesting it.
Please put a number or percentage on "many Texans" because I've never heard this nonsense in public except from some asshole politician.
There are some valid legal challenges to argument. Maybe they want to take it to SCOTUS to see it settled, one way or another. I don't know. Seems like there are better things to work towards than proving a political point. Even if they are correct, what's the end game? Actually secede? WTF?

And that has what to do with this discussion? Nothing. California is not a donor state asshole. They take more than they give.
So has California. Have a problem with that?
Secession does not require approval of the Supreme Court.
Have people forgotten how close to disaster Boston was and was only saved by coal and Russian gas?

IBD and gfm are not here. You are hallucinating again. I don't need meds either. Paychoquackery.Take some of your meds and read it again, INT/IBDa/gfm.
Nope. No approval from the SODC is required in any way for secession. It's a legal ruling, not permission or "approval" much like the idea of whether a President can pardon himself.
SCOTUS is not required for secession. They have no say. No one in the SODC does.Is it legal or not? It's an untested idea that can probably only be resolved in SCOTUS.
