Since the original tea party in Bore-stan was a reaction against taxes and a demonstration of independence who exactly are these tea parties against?
And, at a time when your administration is wrestling with protectionism why choose a Chinese drink as token?
 
I wonder what they will do when they realise everywhere they are protesting is on public property that was paid for with tax dollars?

I hope they dont take any public tranportation or drink any water provided by a publicly sponsered water company.

I'm still thinking about the perfect sign to carry while I walk amoungst them.

It's tempting, Sol, but under the circumstances i think a nice bit of cake would be the sensible option.

I fear the presence of crumpets at such events, what with their rumoured links to anarchist groups and whatnot, would only result in scenes of potential bloodshed, which nobody would welcome.

I find it funny that the libtards are afraid of the tea party protesters. I see all the usually left wing nut groups have plans to send in spies to photograph and document the protests.

When you talk about taxpayers please don't include libtards, we all know that you don't pay taxes, just look at most of the Obama cabinet to see that they are all tax cheats.

I sorta thought that crumpets would be good because of their excellent "sail factor" when thrown like a frisbee.
 
There is supposed to be a big one on campus today. I convinced my girlfriend to go check it out for a half hour or so. If it's horrible I'm just going to leave.

I don't typically like being associated with loud and obnoxious protestors, regardless of ideology.
 
I think the criticism of the Tea Parties are mostly off-base.

The Tea Parties are not just about taxes. If anything, they're about bailouts and debt first and foremost. Without bailouts, this would be the same old argument about taxes that Americans have had forever.

Bailouts have brought the issue of Corporate Welfare to the national forefront because we're no longer talking about tax breaks and "incentives" that can be put into the tax code, or generous to ridiculous government contracts. We're talking about real welfare checks from the government to big business... and this is money that the government doesn't even have.

The public has always been against TARP and the various bailouts that followed. The government has not responded to those concerns. To the point made by some writers about how we aren't facing a situation with taxation without representation: If you've got representatives who won't represent you, then you get organized and try to change it. So, people are organizing. It's not that hard to understand.

It's no different than the response when a country that was 70% against the war in Iraq couldn't get a Democratic majority in Congress to end the war.

And who says Republicans aren't compassionate? As Ken's last photo showed poor Republicans are out protesting the over taxing of rich Demcrats.
