and why are you so determined to make light of these deaths? How those 100+ cops injured, while 2 committed suicide immediately thereafter?....nothing to see here folks, chasing congressmen through the capitol and looking to hang pence, eh no big deal

I don't "make light of death", I haven't made even one joke about it, I simply point out truthfully that they were not murdered by anybody in that crowd.

Look, we all agree that 1/6 was an outrage. But how about we subtract the false portrayals of it? I also fail to see why it shouldn’t be viewed in the context of political violence that has gone on for nearly a year. Some of us don’t see a big distinction between beating cops with skateboards or hockey sticks. Both are equally despicable acts that should be called out on a *consistent basis*.

Democrats are trying to use emotional arguments and imagery to tie this to Trump—and it’s not going to work. These idiots acted on their own volition. And they *are not* representative of Trump supporters or the MAGA movement.

Yep, the crowd didn't outright kill any cops, but they did manage to injure 58 of them. That is SO much better.

so when Trump holds one of his MAGA rallies its common to see one person shot, 4 others die, including two suicides right?............business as usual eh?

It's not a goalpost move, and good luck w/ that last part. 1/6 doesn't happen without Trump. No one rational disputes that.

And we don't all seem to agree that it was an "outrage." All I see is a lot of downplaying on the right. And Trump was apparently delighted, and told rioters "We love you."

I could have used a different one, but it served to make the point that murder is worse than assault and we treat murderers, and think of them, differently (stronger sentencing notwithstanding we think of murder as far worse than assault). It is likely that if his crime was solely rape it would not have even been national news in 1984 (shoot, it may not even now). We wouldn't even know his name.

Anyway, we've gone far off the beaten path.

You know that even you think differently of the crowd now that you know that they murdered nobody. You just won't let the truth get in the way of your political hatred.

And I already listed how (thus why) they died.

Very little difference between murder and attempted murder other than the lack of competence or lack of a deadly weapon. The mob intended to murder people, cops included. As I said, if you haven't watched the video, I would strongly suggest that you do, because frankly, your take is disgustingly ignorant. This was horrific. Your attempt to downplay it is abhorrent.

Yet even with that one we treat and sentence them differently. Though I surmise that if this crowd wanted those people dead they'd be dead. Your desperate attempt to make it fit even knowing that they murdered not one person that day pretty much tells us all that even you think differently of that crowd now that you know they didn't murder anybody at all.

You don't speak for me pal. And you are dead wrong. After viewing these videos, I think WORSE of the mob. Way worse. It was a lynch mob, and the cops were collateral damage to them. They beat them with flagpoles, sprayed them with bear spray, threatened to shoot one of them with his own gun. They were called fucking pigs, traitors, and the black officers were called the n word repeatedly. Your dispassionate analysis is disgusting. I can think of no other word for it. You should hang your head in shame. You won't, but you should.
