It is unlikely that Trump will be impeached before his term ends.

The House is in recess until January 20th. Pelosi has no current plans to call House members back. Even if she did, and the House were to impeach him, McConnell still controls the Senate. The Senators-elect from GA have not been certified nor sworn in. They cannot vote. Even if that were to happen, the tie-breaker vote still belongs to Pence until January 20th.

I have heard that impeachment could be done after Trump has left office but I do not know if that is correct. If so, it could mean that he would be prevented from running again in 2024. I cannot verify this. Perhaps someone who is more knowledgeable can?
