They announced a five-day relaxation of virus precautions over Christmas, just last week. Maybe they thought it was an amnesty. Now, in the face of national uproar over such stupidity they've narrowed that window of irresponsibility to just Christmas day. Maybe they think that Covid 19 is Christian.
Meanwhile, a new virus variant is raging through London and the south-east- including among the thousands of truckers stuck waiting to carry it to France.
I'm tempted to say that the English voters deserve such crass incompetence - but half of them don't.

My family is scattered to the four winds- but they're all safe so far.
Infections are few here - although there's talk of restrictions if the numbers increase.
