In most countries there are various mechanisms in place to see that the various university degrees awarded are about level-pegging. Are the weirdoes telling us this isn't true in America?

Education is extremely important.

Yet, here in Dutchess County, NY many school districts pay between 4 - 8 thousand yearly for public schools.


Meanwhile, homeless shelters are underfunded.

People I've know here, had to sleep outside due to the homeless shelters here being full.

Now that's pretty sad.

What does paying for education have to do with homelessness?

Why is the degree useless? What you are saying makes no sense. Can you discuss Gender studies with an air of authority? What level degree do you possess or is a high school diploma as far as you went? It's important to remember that certain jobs in education require a higher degree such as a doctorate.

Probably because homeless people are mostly adults.

We as a society tend to place a higher value on providing for children than we do adults.

If someone is homeless with children there are special shelters for them.

I think we tend to view a lot of homeless adults as being that way by choice or due to bad choices that've made in the past.

And let's face it, there just isn't enough money in the form of local tax revenue to take care of everybody.

Some groups are going to get left out.

I think we also tend to feel that if we spend the money to provide a good education to people when they are children, they will have less of a chance of becoming homeless after they grow up.
