Press Conference

Man isn't that the truth and I don't mean the comment specifically at Obama. It's like its taught in Political Speaking 101.

Take this from someone who writes political speeches and works in political communication .. it is taught to politicians. It's a neat diversion from the issue and it makes the poiltician appear to care .. especially if they can remember the names.

You get creepier with every delusional post you make. And for someone who has followed me here after FIVE FUCKING years of unsuccessful stalking, and stalking of the wrong people? You're really in no position to talk.

I think that you'd like to get me into a mud wrestle here. You always were the proverbial pig, enjoying it. But I’m going to walk away from that here the same way I walked away from you there. And that is what has always driven you even more crazy than you were the day you showed up in cyberspace and stank it up.

Oh the drama of it awl! LOL, I was invited over here dardar, you might wonder by who, wink wink.

I was not the one who engaged you over here fatty, that would be you and your delusions of being stalked. You who called my home and asked to talk to my child, and my husband. Now you just walk away and stfu for once about who's who, and I'll ignore you. :)

Wow, you've gone even nuttier. And some said it couldn't happen. Okay! Sure.

Because they actually need 60 votes in the Senate?

Just a guess.

Leadership is creating good policy then leading the coiuntry and the opposition to it, not adopting policy a few people forced you to accept.

Many republicans will be forced to agree with the stimulus because of their own political needs. Obambi never had to bend over to win passage.

That's silly. This package is going to pass w/ 3 Republican votes in the Senate and zero in the House. The only reason they are getting the 3 in the Senate is because Senate Democrats compromised.

I don't know, I'm kind of in between here. I'm not certain like bac is, but I have wondered if those moderates would have dared to actually join a fillibuster of the stimulus bill if they weren't given what they wanted.

We're never going to know, but I kind of doubt it.

I wouldn't want to see the stock market on the day they tried & failed.

Maybe it would have been worth a shot, but I just don't think this is a time to test it.

Where you and I are always going to disagree on is leadership my brother.

If you can find "leadership" in adopting a lessor policy in a time of dire crisis for the sake of a few votes, then there isn't much point in our addressing the particulars of the issue .. particularly when the economists who were CORRECT about predicting the financial disaster we now see before us suggest that the stimulus legislation should b e twice as big as what's coming out of the Senate.

Unlike you and Obambi, I rely on people who have a proven track record of being CORRECT about things.

Leadership is leading, not being led.

Yeah but a lot of politics is very manipulative, you know that. IF, and this is a big if, the house dems put back some of the state help, and that's how it ends up passing because it has picked up popular support due to Obama's being out there, then that works, no? Whatever works. But knowing the Democrats, they'll cut more! lol. We'll see.

Yes. An appeal to "practical considerations" and electoral success is how the right wing gatekeepers get the base to give up their strongly held beliefs as well. The fascist center is where it's at.

Two parties my ass.

So, in your opinion, they should have stuck with the original package, and tried to push that through without any Republican votes whatsoever?

Have you thought about what the defeat of such a bill in the Senate would do to the economy in the short term?

You are absolutely correct my sister.

The stimulus plan is a defining moment for republicans and moderate republicans are already very uneasy about toeing the party line ..which is why Spector took a bunch of them aside to join in the discussions on the plan.

There is dissention building within the Republican Party and there was always going to be Republican votes in the Senate and the House iresspective of the side-show .. that Obambi himself precipitated .. with their no support of the initial House bill. The House was waiting on the Senate to respond, but by the time the bill works it's way back to the house I guarantee there will be republican votes there .. that was always a forgone conclusion no matter what the bill looked like.

Americans have no understanding of politics .. that's why they're so easy to manipulate.

Do it now! FEAR!

Jesus h. You are so far gone.

Well, I know you've worked in politics, so I'm not going to say you are wrong. One thing I felt from the beginning was that Obama made a huge mistake in front-loading it with tax cuts. He should have let those be negotiated in, if that's what he wanted, and he seems to really want them. With much of the wingnut right arguing that these particular tax cuts are "welfare" because they don't go to the right people, maybe they are going to work.

But Obama finally acknowledged that last night.

You know in the end, I really only care that this works. Business is very tough right now, and god help you if you are looking for a job.
