In other info I found, Ms Williams was only 22 weeks pregnant (estimated) so the baby would have been almost 4 months premature.

This is from the ME's Classification of Pending Case

"Based on witness statements, we know the neonate had movement and that the neonate appeared to have been breathing indicating a live birth. The measurements done at autopsy along with ultrasound findings are consistent with a gestational age of 22 weeks. The literature shows that fetuses before 24 weeks gestation have basically a 0% survival; this data is from mothers who are already in a hospital setting and who are prepped for preterm delivery. The abortion was done legally before 24 weeks gestation. The cause of death is extreme prematurity and the manner of death is natural"

It should also be noted that the 18 year old Williams has had three pregnancies. The two prior to this had ended in miscarriage and abortion.

I had a conversation with a liberal Prius owner one time who stated that he mainly drove on the highway, so he rode the brake to charge the battery. I could not convince him that this would not increase his mileage.
 
interesting that mostly men weigh in on abortion - since men cannot get pregnant

22-23 weeks is not enough time for a viable baby - the fetus was in its second trimester - just not enough time

It was not an abortion, the doctor did not arrive in time to perform the abortion. At least read the article emo-boy. It was a live baby born early. They call them preemies.
 
This happened more than two years ago. I doubt they are going to be charged with anything if the prosecutors have sat on it for two years.

I think she'll likely be charged, autopsy reports show that the baby filled her lungs with air and was born alive. Almost no courts would allow the argument "she probably would have died anyway".

There is no statute of limitations on murder.

I'm sorry, I assumed the autopsy would be performed shortly after the aborted fetus was found without any justification for the warrant besides "anonymous tips" - roughly two years ago. They've sat on this for a long time, and the news article is only appearing because of the civil suit. I made no mention of the commonly known legal fact that murder has no statute of limitations. And you can't murder something in the second trimester.

Once it is born it is murder regardless of the trimester it was in.

You are not comprehending, it was a live baby, when its lungs took in air it was no longer a "fetus" regardless of the, too late, attempt to take its life preceding its birth.

It is not a fetus once it is born. It is then an infant. And physics does not define the biological stages of life.

You are a fetus in the womb, and infant once born. It doesn't matter at what week of development you are in when you are born, you are no longer a fetus.

Now I agree that it's physical placement should have no practical effect and we should treat the human life as what it is, but I don't believe that this argument would lead where you want it to.
