oct 13 2020 Sen. Mazie Hirono asked Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett whether she has been the perpetrator of any sexual misconduct, a question Hirono said she asks all nominees.

I ask each nominee these two questions, and I will ask them of you. Since you became a legal adult, have you ever made unwanted requests for sexual favors or committed any verbal or physical harassment or assault of a sexual nature?” the Hawaii Democrat asked during the hearing on Tuesday.

“No, Sen. Hirono,” Barrett responded.

It appears amy kept her cool but i'm not sure that's the right thing to do. I wish she'd said "You democrats use every smear tactic in the book because you know the tv networks will always protect you."

Well if she has asked that question of all nominees on any Committee she has served on for the last seven years as she said, it is not unusual here, nothing to see

No, I think she played it smart. She did not lower herself to respond to their gutter politics. Also, remember, more importantly, she is not at liberty to get into partisan political cat fights - even if she is being unfairly baited by some scumbag Democrat. A potential Justice of the SCOTUS cannot be seen to be doing that. They are expected to be totally apolitical.

I doubt even a DEMOCRAT would ask those questions of a woman unless they have some "recently discovered" accuser in the wings who "just had to speak out" now, years later because "she's being nominated for the Supreme Court", etc.

It's the Judge Roy Moore/Kavanaugh playbook.

Hirono essentially asked ACB if she ever raped anyone and Booker asked her about "white supremacy". They are very odd questions. Hirono says she asks that question of EVERY nominee. I somehow doubt it.

But, those questions give me the sneaky suspicion that a "surprise" is in the offing. Maybe some new letter to DiFi? Or some law student coming forward alleging that ACB made him/her/it feel uncomfortable?

ACB is crushing the hearing, but I don't trust the democrat party. Something is fishy. I could be wrong and I hope I am.

If the dems are up to their old tricks, I hope that Graham, McConnell et all just ram it through
