Alabama

OK, we've all picked on Dixie in the past for being from Alabama. Bama certainly has had it's dark side, Jim Crow, Segregation, Bull Conner, George Wallace, Abba.

But what State doesn't have it's dark side? Woody Hayes bitch slapping Charley Bowman was hardly the high tide mark in Ohio.

So let's make a list of the good things from Alabama. All's I ask is that those from Alabama refrain from posting (Sorry Dixie). Cause we know ya'll know what's good about Bama or else you wouldn't be living there.

Here's my list of good things from Alabama.

Fried green tomatoes.

Sum brewed Iced Tea.

The Crimson Tide.

The Crimson Tide Cheer Leaders.

Pecans.

My Aunt Amanda.

Birmingham Steel.

Mobile Bay.

Soul Food.

If you noticed I left "Grits" off my list....it's because I'm not overly fond of grits, though I have noticed they are right popular in Bama.

I know you stipulated I couldn't post, but last I checked, you weren't the boss of me. So, here I am, posting in your stupid thread, and you won't do a damn thing about it.

Let me start by saying, yes, Alabama has had its dark days, and as any Alabama public school student can attest, we learned about these events every single year of our schooling in state history class. I believe, as a result of this, my generation and beyond, are much more sensitive and aware of racial divisiveness. Because of our education on our state's heritage, we tend to be much less ignorant, bigoted, and racist.

A few things to add to your list...

Tuxedo Junction
Bear Bryant
Senior Bowl
Hank Aaron
Willie Mays
Jesse Owens
Carl Lewis
Joe Louis
Nat "King" Cole
Lionel Hampton
Hank Williams Sr.
Hank Williams Jr.
Bobby Goldsboro
William Christopher Handy
Harper Lee
Helen Keller
Coretta Scott King
Ralph Abernathy
Kate Jackson
Emmy Lou Harris
Jim Nabors
George Lindsey
Heather Whitestone
Tuskegee Airmen
Tuskegee Institute
UAB Medical Center
Marshall Space Flight Center
Redstone Arsenal

Not to mention, the ORIGINAL American Mardis Gras.

Well....after that asinine post the next response will probably be...well....it's not Michigan.....
Doubtless. Because it's true.

One thing different between Alabama and Michigan... People who make cars in Alabama actually understand what a profit is.

Good things from Alabama...

My father.

My grandparents.

The Auburn Tigers.

The Auburn Tiger cheerleaders.

All the fun I had in college.

Several easy women I've known.

The best thing about Alabama is that I don't live there. Other than that, can't think of a single reason to ever go there.

I'm sure Alabama is fine .. if you like that sort of thing.

Massachusetts has too many things to be able to even comprehend putting down on an internet messageboard in 30 seconds. Once again, this thread is proof that the south is lame.

alabama is ranked 45th out of 50 in the smartest state ranking.

Naturally most northeastern states are at the top.

Maybe you retards need to start talking about real science in schools rather than how the earth is 6000 years old.

Come on Grind, didn't you used to call where you live Taxachusetts?
No matter where you live, you can talk to smart people on the net anytime you want and level of intelligence around you doesn't affect your style or standard of living, your rights or freedoms. Taxes, crime and regulations do though.
I don't really care where I live so long as I stay in the countryside.
