Trump to reveal coronavirus 'breakthrough' tonight at 6

I posted this topic the other day.
there IS NO GOOD REASON not to allow it - that goofball Dr. Lane said we need clinical trials
Fauci went long for the ride and the FDA caved

Your government at work (not)... WTG Trump

There is no good reason for us to have not been doing this way back in April when we had a enough people who had seen this bug to do this on a scale that could help.

April....May.....June...July....August....almost September....

Fuck Me.

When you are taking on water on your vessel you work on slowing it down so the pumps can keep up, then work on the final repair to keep steaming in weather. Same thing. Good point.

Yup. Heaven help anyone who might have slipped and got tossed over a "few yards" back. (I'm speaking of on a smaller pleasure boat) All you can do is throw out a pfd or send
someone else overboard in a pfd while swimming out with a 2nd one to the other guy in the water. They can tread and float around while the others back in the boat grab
buckets, coolers, whatever to bail out enough to help the pumps. I've seen it happen with 6 guys in the boat just outside the cut, hit a wave at the wrong angle and whooooooooosh!
They did a good job though. Moved a couple of them up into the open bow to get some weight in there, got everything under control, went back and pulled their buddies back into
the boat and kept on heading out to their fishing grounds. Could have been a lot worse.

Some big breakthrough announcement. Just announcing they will be testing the plasma stuff. Get back to us when it's something bigger than more testing of controversial treatments for the umpteenth time.

You're not paying attention. Other presidents (including Bama) have had to go through the exact same procure to obtain emergency authorization
even if the procedure has already been used in the past (which it has). You want something more controversial? Like HCQ maybe? Yeah...a lot of us would.

Meanwhile, it is what it is and it is promising for at least increasing recovery rates even more. Go donate.

Sounds good, but I don't think we had the antibody tests yet, no?

The kind of testing they’re talking about takes too long.

We need to have a tool in the bag if there’s a winter outbreak. This is a good move by Trump and it’s *instructional* that he had to over the heads of the medical bureaucracy to get it done.

Now, let’s do HCQ for a early infections. F* big Pharma.

They've already treated 60,000 people. You have to find people who've recovered and are willing to donate their plasma. You can't just make the shit.

The time it took to get one itself being another bullet point in the argument "OUR EXPERTS SUCK!".

You have a slight point.

EDIT: also it could be assumed that those who get COVID get antibodies....when I started reading about this idea in FEB the constraint was having enough people who had been infected, not getting an antibody test, though that sure helps when the actual infection rate is 6-24 times (depending upon the county) the official count because we do so poorly at testing.

Supply stopped being a problem months ago... a lot of people would do it for free but they should be paid.

I thought the virus was no big deal. What's the rush?

Exactly lol.

You do what you have to, to stay afloat. Like or not, we have to do some things on the fly—and we should have been doing more of it all along.

Waiting around for FDA approval is insanity. Particularly, when you’re dealing with relatively safe treatments. There’s no such thing as a zero risk treatment but plasma is pretty benign.

Just do it. There shouldn’t even be a debate. If it doesn’t work, no harm no foul.

I’ll tell you exactly what needs to happen here: the FDA and CDC should just stand down on treatments and allow frontline docs to use plasma if they want to; use HCQ if they want to; then let them communicate with one another and set up a data base where they can compare results.

They’ll find out what works and what doesn’t. Save the RCT’s for conventional treatments/situations that aren’t related to an ongoing epidemic.

He sat on this for the convention, how many lives lost?

I don't think he did. I think he's desperate. He's putting pressure on the FDA to approve things that haven't been fully vetted. This is just another example. He's going to try to get them to approve a vaccine before phase III trials are complete. And who knows, they might just do it. That's how fucking scary this guy is.

This bug has been ravishing the planet for about a year by best current estimates, this is not early, this is late.

Humanity keeps turning up a day late and a dollar short.

We are so fucked.

Ya remember a few weeks back (or was it a month) when those five doctors or whatever it was talked about COVID...a lefty so-called journalist wrote an entire piece "They were only offering their "personal opinions", ignore them (paraphrase)".

I saw another last week "Doctors are not scientists, they have no grounds to speak scientifically about COVID....listen to the experts! (paraphrase)".

yep.

but we should listen to bill gates...

screw these fools!

I already knew that; it's been discussed in the medical world for some weeks now. Why the big hoopla? Ooooh, that's right. #COVID45 is losing.

So it is a big deal? Seems like mixed messaging coming from the Trumptard camp.
