There are different versions of that story. My favorite goes along these lines:

Awareness flooded through her like a wave. It both saddened her and gladenned her. Wanting to share this with Adam, she offered him a taste too. Adam, being a bit of a dumbass, would eat anything Eve gave. He, too, became self-aware. God didn't throw them out, they left like birds leaving a nest.

Nothing wrong with beta males. It's when they claim a Beta male like Trump is an Alpha male that I have problems with them. As for the pretenders you describe, it's like being "cool"; if a person has to act cool, they aren't cool.
Look at women: a woman who is self-assured shows it. She's smart, calm, cool and collected. Everyone has "bad hair days" but an strong, self-confident woman only has them rarely. She can lead and she can follow. She uses her brains to determine which is best to do at the moment, not ego, emotions or childish games. If she falls down, she always gets back up again. She's not afraid of a helping hand but she doesn't need it either.
