Unprecedented, historic corruption:

Yes, that’s nice, but that was Clinton, he’s no longer President, the current disaster is Trump.

The OP of this thread stated:

Unprecedented, historic corruption: an American president commutes the sentence of a person convicted by a jury of lying to shield that very president.

I demonstrated quite clearly that the Stone commutation is neither unprecedented or a historic case of corruption by comparing it to what is possibly the worst case of a Presidential pardon in the history of the US. That puts the Trump action in perspective to a degree as basically a nothing burger except to the deranged TDS crowd.

I put a thanks to this post but then had to remove it upon reading the last sentence.

You had something going until then.

It's not like corruption was nonexistent before DT. He just took it to a whole new level.

stop making false claims, and I wont call them out

Actually, I think we are at the point that we should just answer with a false claim of our own. This is a boxing match, and one of the boxers just kicked the other one in the nuts. The referee said 'all good'. Time to learn to kick.

The country voted for a mobster because it was offered Billary as an alternative. Bernie would have been a good president. Trump has been a distraction, an amusement, a fool and now a cautionary tale . What a shame that the country, in all probablity, now has to stomach four years of Biden. Bernie would have been a good president.

dumb ass troll.
the claim was "shielding the president" which he wasn't- there was nothing to "shield" about
stupid man baby, the investigation was about Trump..shut the fuck up.

Most corrupt, incompetent President ever.

You want a clear case of corruption in a Presidential pardon? This is THE textbook case of all time: Bill Clinton's pardon of Marc Rich.

This was a solid quid pro quo to let a filthy rich White collar Wall Street criminal walk by a cabal of Democrats who got paid hundreds of thousands to pardon him. It wasn't a sentence commutation like Stone (WHO WASN'T PARDONED contrary to claims by the TDS crowd) but a full pardon before he was even tried as Rich was hiding out in Switzerland to avoid extradition.

Yes that stunk to high hell, as the criminal was not deserving in any way, but you avoid an important distinction,
there is no evidence Rich was convicted for obstructing justice in an investigation of the person doing the pardoning.

By your metric, nobody should be pardoned, as they are ALL doing time and guilty of felonies.

Sorry, unconvincing digression. I shot your red herring with my speargun of pure concentrated reason!

On feeling the bern, I agree. The problem is electability. Bernie has some baggage feminists don't like and he is so
liberal some moderates might be scared. And Biden has the AA vote more so than Bern due to his faithful 2nd in command to Obama.

Biden basically can't lose.

I gave that lecture to my dog last night. She didn't understand a word. Neither will this clown. Some in the audience appreciate it. Of course that's the distinction. Trump is pardoning people for not because he knows them, but because THEY know him. And they know everything that goes along with that. This is the least surprising thing Trump has done. There was never any question he would pardon Stone, Flynn, and anyone else who followed the code. Note that Michael Cohen remains in prison. This was Covid related? I guess Trump has tens of thousands of commutations to get cracking on.

Whataboutism.

And gun control advocates. Bernie also has a problem of all talk and no action. Don't get me wrong, I like the guy, but he is Ben & Jerry's Coconuts For Caramel to Bidens Vanilla.

Justification to distract, the old adage, two wrongs doan’ t make a right applies. Your assumption that we approved of the Rich pardon makes you believe we only condemn Trump because of our TDS. Wrong assumption.

Bernie served pie in the sky, I like pie, but we don’t need pie right now. We need meat and vegetables.
