We can't expect there to be a time in the next six to 12 months when we're COVID-free

The federal government (or as the news calls them "the White House guidelines") guidelines for opening up were not particularly stringent, IMO. Doesn't matter -- some states are totally disregarding them anyways. Georgia still has climbing cases yet is "Ah, fuck it, let's do this thing and get it over with."

"While Trump was estimating that only 60,000 Americans would die from the coronavirus, the federal government ordered more than 100,000 body bags"

"As President Donald Trump publicly estimated that coronavirus deaths would top out at 60,0000, the federal government was planning for a much worse outcome — by buying more than 100,000 body bags.

"This is according to internal administration documents and public records reported by NBC News on Friday.

"The US surpassed 60,000 deaths on Wednesday — what was previously regarded as a "best-case scenario." Since then, Trump has revised his estimates of the US death toll to between 60,000 and 70,0000 deaths.

"But a model released by the White House and Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation this week showed that deaths could actually reach as high as 130,000 by early August. "

Covid19 and the economy has already decided the next election: a blue sweep of WH and Congress and then the packing of SCOTUS after that and the passing of the NPV.

Who ever said anything about "COVID-free"? We may never be "COVID-free". Do we remain on lock down permanently?

When the editorial board of the NYT’s throws you under the bus, it’s over,

We will not be on 'lock down' permanently until a vaccine.

We will be on 'shelter for the elderly and at risk' and 'common sense masking and gloving' for everyone else when the disease surges.
