Early Saturday morning, the House of Representatives passed a Covid-19 relief bill that will pay for free China virus testing, paid leave for employees in cases of the foreign illness, and subsidies for small businesses to pay for it.
The bill will now move on to the Senate where passage is expected early next week.
The president gave his blessing for the compromise.
There were several
DEMOCRAT poison pills in the bill that America's president balked at accepting.
One of them had to do with a leftist-inspired loophole for the Hyde Amendment, which prevents federal funds from being used for abortion. Congressional Republicans insisted on specific language clarifying that the Hyde Amendment also applied to China virus-related spending on Medicare and Medicaid.
The disingenuous
DEMOCRATS initial paid leave provision would have required employers to provide the benefit not only during the China virus pandemic virus, but forever.
The final compromise insisted upon by our strong and stable POTUS removed the
DEMOCRAT land-mine, limiting the benefit to the current situation.
In addition, our wise and fearless leader was concerned about the insidious attempt of the
DEMOCRATS to extend the the paid-leave expansion to huge corporations that donate large sums to the party of the Jackass.
As our president insisted, the final China virus bill limits subsidies to businesses with 500 employees or fewer.
Treasury Secretary Mnuchin said, “Obviously, we expect the bigger corporations to pick up these costs”.
Faced with the steely resolve of the GEOTUS, defeated
DEMOCRATS cravenly caved.
