Election Night

My friend Sue is having a party that night. So I am making champagne Obamas. Sue, myself and another friend of ours, went to the Philadelphia art museum shortly after the PA primary. And we had lunch at this great place, I forgot the name, but it was very popular and had a 50’s décor. And they had a drink for Hillary and a drink for obama, and we all ordered the Obama’s. They’re, champagne, a shot of raspberry vodka, and the rim has cocoa and sugar on it.

Is anyone else doing anything for election night? I wonder what the righties will be doing? If something were to go very wrong, I plan on attempting suicide that night, so that I can get my hands on major amounts of pharmaceuticals to get me through the next four years. I’ll have to enter therapy. Or maybe I will just buy a bunch of shit off of the internet and have it shipped to a PO box. But as things stand, I expect to have a good night.

No big plans. I usually have some beer onhand, and plenty of snacks; I'm kind of a junkie on that night, and usually stay glued to the TV.

I've talked seriously to people about leaving the good ol' US of A if McCain wins. I don't know if I'd actually go through with it, but I know if Obama loses, that's how I'll feel that night, and for a pretty fair amount of time afterwards. I felt that way with Bush though, too...

That’s usually what I do. This will be the first election that I’ve left the house. I have mixed feeling about going. But my closest friends will be there, so I said yes.

I don’t want to sound like a jinx, but he’s going to win. There is no tightening of the race, so far. Maybe there will be, but one week before the election, there is no tightening. I can’t get over the media pushing the “race is closing”. It’s not. My friends call me, and say, the race is tightening, I’m getting nervous. And I keep saying the same thing over and over…stop watching tv if you can’t disregard most of what you hear. The race isn’t tightening. I’ll call you if it does, until you hear from me, obama is holding his lead.

I hear you; I have noticed that as well. I keep checking every poll for signs of it getting closer, and it's just not happening. If I was a McCain supporter, every day of those polls would be killing me right now.

I feel like they should be tightening w/ some of the ammo that Dems have given McCain over the past week or so, but they're just not.

you are correct, Obama has maintained his approx. 7 point lead for the better part of the last two weeks with no signs of it diminishing. I think it will tick down to a 5 point lead at worst (for Obama).

As for your original question, I plan to tune in around 7-8 mtn time to throw foam bricks at my tv.... after that I plan to throw an hour long tantrum yelling at my tv (cause its the only one that will listen, the toaster never pays attention)... when that is accomplished I shall then swear by all that is holy (meaning some form of alcohol) that I shall have my vengance upon those that would put one party in complete control again (which translates to a few on line taunts). Then I shall go to bed, satisfied that I have accomplished a great deal that night.

I know. I think that people were looking for a reason to vote for obama, and he closed the deal during the debates. Once they looked at him and said, yeah, I can see this guy as President, I don’t think there was any going back.

You should make a champagne Obama SF! You will feel better, guaranteed.

I now know what my complete night will look like. I will have several bottles of Stone Anniversary Oatmeal Chocolate Stout and a couple a three cigars. I will smoke the cigars and drink to the end of the Bush administration, the beginning of the Obama administration and the fact that SF is throwing a temper tantrum. That will make me smile widest.
