The only GOP rep in the entire house who isn't white is retiring, leaving you with 0 House reps of color. Every single GOP House rep is at least a millionaire.

If fossil fuels are the problem then we should celebrate higher gas prices. Make people drive less. I mean sure, paying $4.50/gallon is tough for lower income folks. Especially when we don't build housing in urban areas near the jobs and they are forced into 30+ mile commutes each way on a daily basis. But it's the trade off.

This isn't about the federal government or Congress. This is about California and the choices we make. If you want to get people out of their cars make gas more expensive. More expensive gas means people tend to buy more fuel efficient vehicles, drive less or take public transit if it's an option. But of course politicians won't say they want higher gas prices because it doesn't play well with many voters so they speak out of both sides of their by saying we need to address global warming but want cheap gas as well. And that's what Newsom is doing here.
