Booker is a vegan, but he doesn't want to stop Americans from eating meat

Sen. Cory Booker, a vegan, was just asked if more Americans should stop eating meat as a means to curb the climate crisis.

"You know, first of all, I want to say, no," Booker said. "Actually, I want to translate that into Spanish: No."
The line drew laughs from the audience.

Booker said "factory farming is destroying and hurting our environment" and claimed that kind of farming is pushing family farmers out of business. He has called for an end to big food mergers — but not an end to meat consumption.

Cory booker wimped out and showed that he is not ready to lead. If factory farming is destroying and hurting our environment as he concurred that it is, why not advocate for the solution and educate the folks you claim you want to lead?

This is why we need a Progressive and not a Centrist which nowadays is actually Republican-lite.

LOL!
Let's see. Cows kill the planet because they fart. Then we should keep killing them and eat more burgers till they all disappear.
But, YOU think we should let them roam around farting and killing the planet while you have tofu sandwiches with dandelion tea.

Some people refuse to eat meat because they view it as a personal matter of morals. In that regard, it's admirable if a vegetarian or vegan doesn't believe in forcing others to go along with them. That was my initial reaction before reading the OP.

I see nothing wrong with what he did. He wants to deal with excessive factory farming it sounds like. That and quite a few things that are allowed in American meat are the issues.

Make America Vegan Again!.........

I'm not ready to make the switch altogether, though the diet is better for my heart. I still like chicken and salmon too much.
Plus I think people crave meat so much they lean on bad things like excessive cheese which spoils the whole thing as far as the health motive.

How do vegans get a complete protein molecule? I understand their diets are lacking in BCAA

I agree, but then they shouldn't complain about CO2 from cows.

You're the only one claiming that he doesn't advocate for solutions and educating people.

You're attributing positions to him that he doesn't necessarily have.

The body naturally craves meat (beef, fowl, pork, organs, egg yolks, etc.) and whole foods (fewer than 4 ingredients on a label),
healthy fats (non plant based oils like olive, coconut & avocado) also from walnuts, pumpkin seeds, almonds
and full fatted dairy like heavy cream, butter, plain Greek yogurt
and healthy carbs from dark greens (kale, bok choy, spinach, cabbage, etc.)

Health issues are rampant from sugar and carbs entering the picture. These strip the body of processing other healthy nutrients,
decrease the body of testosterone, estrogen, create insulin problems, obesity, cause inflammation, heart disease, stroke.

The body creates its own cholesterol (which we need). The cholesterol myth has been exposed. Big Pharma went nuts with since the 50's, statins
became the new "must have" for older people robbing them of the very thing needed for brain health (cholesterol).
Any coincidence that Alzheimer's became so rampant? I don't think so.

There is no such thing as "bad" cholesterol. LDL particles are the containers that transport cholesterol through your blood stream, they are needed.
The focus of concern should be on your triglyceride lab report, not HDL & LDL cholesterol!
If you want a true assessment of the condition of your total cholesterol, ask your doctor for a NMR test on it, not the basic one most of us get.
The NMR will show whether your cholesterol particles are large and fluffy (good) or small and dense (not so good). It is not a
matter of HDL or LDL...............it's about the condition of the particles of both of them.

Do you ever get anything right? HUMANS crave protein. Protein comes in many forms--always has. NOT JUST MEAT. Now perhaps you have your own definition of MEAT. (Republicans have their own definitions of everything else).
