The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born

As I wrote earlier this month, attacks on conservative Christians are certainly popular in some quarters of the Left, but now I also fear they’re populist — they can help animate a mass movement.

The combination of ignorance, fear, and hatred wielded against conservative Christians in progressive quarters is disturbing.
Just in this new year, we’ve seen two progressive senators aggressively question a Christian judicial nominee because of his membership in a mainstream Catholic service organization, we’ve seen a days-long attack on Karen Pence for teaching part-time at a Christian ministry, and we watched a stunning online feeding frenzy against students at a Catholic boys’ school based on a misleadingly clipped video segment of a much longer confrontation.

Moreover, we just concluded a Supreme Court term in which progressive governments attempted to erode the constitutional firewall against compelled speech by attempting to compel Christians to advance messages they found immoral.
California attempted to compel pro-life pregnancy centers to advertise free or low-cost abortions.
Colorado attempted to compel a man to custom-design a cake for a gay wedding.

And along with each of these events we’ve seen tens of thousands of words of commentary declaring Christians bigoted and hateful — often based on condescending claims of hypocrisy premised on sheer ignorance of Christian theology and tradition.

Who can forget the avatar of progressive populism himself, Bernie Sanders, in 2017 aggressively grilling a nominee for the Office of Management and Budget over his theological views on the differences between the Christian and Muslim faith?
He actually said that the nominee was “not someone who this country is supposed to be about.”
And of course Dianne Feinstein famously rebuked Trump judicial nominee Amy Coney Barrett by declaring that the “dogma lives loudly within you, and that’s a concern.”

I agree, and on the other side of the coin, I believe the self-proclaimed Christians who lurk obscure message boards and who indulge in cursing, hate speech, bigotry, xenophobia, and affinity for war and violence are not representative of world Christianity at large.

These type of phony message board Christians may worship at the Church of Trump, but there are completely unlike most of the Christians I know in real life. In fact, my observation is that the more one wears their religion on their sleeve, the more they loudly proclaim it to strangers on a message board, the more likely it is they are phony Christians.

The phoniness comes from mainly non-believers who start threads on, or interject into threads Scriptures as if they
know what they're talking about and judge the believers for not seeing it their way. Ninety-nine times out of a
hundred they begin the religious conversations which of course only stirs up strife. When we speak in replies,
we're called out as the ones at fault which the unbelievers use as an open door to further chastise, criticize, and
judge us. Satan is the accuser of the brethren.

"Then I heard a loud voice shouting across the heavens, “It has come at last— salvation and power and the Kingdom of our God,
and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down to earth— the one
who accuses them before our God day and night."
Rev. 12:10

You responded to me with cursing, name-calling, and belligerance.

None of my responses to you could even remotely be construed as hateful, curse-filled, belligerrent, or hostile. You may not agree with what I said, by I stated everything to you in a measured way.

As a person who, on Sunday, starts cursing at posters, calling them names, and hurling out curse words, does your behaviour seem very christian to you??

No wonder most here call you cry pussy. Don't cry the big bad conservative will leave you alone to suck you thumb and think how mean you've been treated.

you seem to think Jesus hated everyone but his small group of original followers

Now you are attempting to "PROJECT" your hatred of Christians and accuse others of hate because they present the simple truth found in scripture? Really?

What makes you assume that Jesus hated everyone for telling the truth?....when all he asks is a simple compliance to scripture? The same scripture that tells us Christians to separate the secular and religious and obey the law of the land.
And...what makes you think that GOD does not hate certain things? Such as LAWLESSNESS aka., SIN? Jesus chastised and called those who practiced lawlessness and promoted secular tradition over the law….VIPERS. There is a list of 7 things that God hates and finds to be an abomination......one of those things is the spilling of innocent blood, bearing false witness, a lying tongue, and someone that spreads discourse...an example of discourse such as RACE BAITING..etc.

I wager that you support ABORTION......the spilling of the most innocent blood on earth, that of an unborn child. Blood that has its own distinct DNA signature making it human blood. God hates that sin....and those who practice it or enable it. Proverbs 6:16-19

Sin exists where there is no law. God hates Sin. God in the form of the Christ (God incarnate) was anything but "tolerant" of those who practiced lawlessness. Calling someone who teaches a false doctrine a LIAR is not only OK....its authorized by way of scriptural example,

(Titus), "For this reason I left you in Crete, that you should set in order the things that are lacking and appoint elders in every city as I (Paul speaking to his student Timothy) commanded you...…………….hold fast the faithful word as he has been taught (by you Timothy after having been taught by Paul), that he may be able, by sound doctrine, both to exhort and convict those who contradict." Titus 1:5-9

What did the Christ tell those who taught false doctrine as the originator of this thread attempted to do? "But when he (John the Baptist) saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, Brood of Vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? (sounds like God allows His servants to teach about the Wrath of God)….therefore, bear fruits worthy of repentance." -- Matthew 3:7-8

Again....Christians are commanded to obey the laws of the land they reside in, and not to be lawless themselves or they themselves might suffer from the hands of the government appointed over them. --Romans 13:1-4 And if the crime is sufficient in the eyes of the government you might even be executed as God has authorized the governments to "....not bear the sword in vain." The laws are in effect to protect both the secular and the religious from those who are not righteous, to punish the unrighteous and reward the righteous.

Its a joke when you defend all the lawlessness that is taking place on our southern border. Who are you fooling? Certainly not the well informed CHRISTIAN. ;)

The Christ mirrored the very words of John the Baptist, "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! ……………….SERPENTS, BROOD OF VIPERS! HOW CAN YOU ESCAPE THE CONDEMNATION OF HELL?" -- Matthew 23:23-29

Don't confuse Anger without sin as HATE. Truth is not hate. What makes me angry? For ignorant people such as yourself to assume that I am stupid enough to fall for your attempted justification of lawlessness under the guise of supporting children....when you support killing children in the womb, children with innocent blood flowing throughout their small gestating bodies. There is no law of the land that makes anyone abort their innocent child.....that is a freewill choice based upon ignorance and unrighteous evil. God certainly HATES the spilling of innocent blood and a lying tongue that bears false witness.

Nicely done. Thank-you.

You're right. The vast majority of Xtians are good, decent ppl. The ones like you described, many of whom are found here, are horrendous examples of "Christian lovingkindness." It's instructional for the rest of us, though, to know they're out there and that they don't have the nation's best interests at heart, or those of their fellow countrymen/women.

Exactly. I've learned to be wary of anyone proposing to do business with me that starts right in about their religion. It's virtually always a signal to hold on to your wallet and watch your back for the knife.

I could agree with you if it weren't for a few things that just can't be scientifically explained or disproved and then there are the miracles. That just can't be dismissed by luck or fate. And the way I see it I lose nothing believing in God.

And that's fine. You have a whole lot of company. I have also seen and experienced unexplainable things that have led me to believe that some bit of us continues on after the meat-space body dies. I merely reject the tenets of most organized religions, and the necessity for a deity to oversee it all.

There are two more non-Christian things you have done on this Sunday.

Cursing,
Name-calling,
and Lying.

"Most people" do not call me that name, and you know it as well as I do. Maybe there are a few rightwing INCEL who do, but I never read them anyway.

Getting back to your alleged, but quite phony Christianity:

Do you think your habit this Sunday of lying, name-calling, cursing, being hostile and belligerent comports well with your claim to being a genuine Christine?

Or does it make you look more like a phony, angry, triggered Christian?

Grumpy you fucking idiot. The bible does not contain the first recitation of ethical norms, nor is it even close to a good set.

Die you gravy sucking ignorant moron.

As an atheist I can do a whole lot better than the ten commandments. It doesn't even include not fucking LYING!

No wonder you stupid fucking Trumptards are attracted to it. Can't have it both ways? Fuck you.
You hosers didn't invent ethics, all the ones you douchebags break every day.

You know the fucking great thing about not signing on to rigid, self contradictory, nonsensical pre bronze age
crap? Nobody can make fun of you for believing it. You outta try that on for size. It feel fucking great.

I love it an atheist calling me a fake Christan LMFAO. Since you know so much about Christianity then give me the reference for these transgressions. Believe me I can hardly wait Cry-pussy.

Ah the ravings of a lunatic what entertainment seeing you melt down. Have you got the balls to tell your husband he is nothing but worm food only to be forgotten when he dies.

Crime, drugs, inner cities are war zones.
Doesn’t seem to be working too well.

Whenever you crowd large groups of people, or lab rats, into close quarters, that's what you get. It has nothing to do with god or religion. BTW, a good number of those inner city ppl (code word for black) are deeply religious ppl. A large number of prison inmates claim the same.

(I'm saying this in a gentle tone)

Thank-you for not being a hypocrite and for simply stating that you are an atheist.
Every human being is a sinner which includes all Christians, though some would like you
to think they are holier-than-thou.
And, no true Christian became a true believer by their own works, under their own power, so not of us can brag.
We don't attain acceptance by God by reading the Bible cover to cover once a year or joining a choir. Only God's
grace and mercy reached our hearts and we responded to God's offer of forgiveness and salvation through Christ.
We love the Lord because He first loved us.
This is something the world can't grasp by mere brain power. It's a change of heart. Not every believer beloved
by God is at the same point on the race course. Some are barely out of the starting gate, some are nearing the
far turn, while others are in the homestretch with the finish line in sight.

False teachers and false prophets are all over the damned place and I'm sorry for their influence, but as long as
there are human beings with human nature I'm afraid they will continue to exist.

"As for me, however, I will boast only about the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ; for by means of his cross the world is dead to me, and I am dead to the world."
Galatians 6:14

Is there some secret way to type ‘inner city’ and not get labeled a racist lol?

They kicked God out of public schools and they became godless, no?
