Just listened to the interview on NPR with one of them yesterday; he said the reason they walked out was because the Democrats refused to accept their amendments to the cap-and-trade bill because the voters gave the Democrats supermajorities in both chambers. Democrats aren't under any obligation to even listen to Conservatives after the voters decided they didn't want many Conservatives in the state government.
