The story of IRAN and 'us'... "Those who do not remember history are doomed to repeat it." (Or something like that).

This BULLSHIT blind AMERICAN nationalism makes ME want to hurt someone!! Everyone on this board SHOULD know this and it sickens me that I feel the need again to explain it, cause I'm betting people here don't know.

Anyone notice on our calendars PEARL HARBOR DAY is still marked on DEC 7? Well, every country has national MEMORIES of TRAUMA. Iran has theirs. And we INFLICTED it along with or at the behest of the BRITS. We likely changed the COURSE of the entire middle-east causing someone (even me) to have to school our own because of our historical ignorance, 65 years later. There are VOLUMES but I'll shorthand it to a few paragraphs like in a high school history--which of course we never included in ours. (I admit I've only known about it a couple of decades BUT did know before WE INVADED Iraq--the last time)


IRANIANS "elected" a Prime Minister, his name was Mohammed MOSSADEGH, by all accounts forward thinking, modern, bright and 'kind'. He wanted to modernize IRAN. He also wanted (dared) to want to 'audit the books' and rewrite contracts with BRITISH PETROLEUM Anglo-Iranian Oil Company. More beneficial to/for Iran (I guess since the oil was THEIRS). BP/Iran couldn't/wouldn't come up with a plan that both would agree to. Iran nationalized ITS oil fields.

The BRITS, perhaps still seeing 'empire', wanted the oil at the price it wanted it. Their INTEL and our CIA devised a plan to overthrow Mossadegh as a result. The plan included Britain going in and SEIZING the oil fields in Iran. That was deemed too disruptive, dangerous by Atlee and Churchill. The plan by both countries included a worldwide BOYCOTT of Iranian oil "to put economic pressure" on them. Simultaneously, they used IRANIAN agents (the "most feared mobs") internally to destabilize and sabotage Mossadegh's government. Mossadegh was overthrown, replaced with a military general until the last in line SHAH (Persian king), "agreeable" to the BRITS, was ensconced. Mossadegh supporters were JAILED or executed. We helped keep the SHAH propped up FOR 26 YEARS until NOV 1979.

NOTE: TRUMAN would NOT approve using our CIA to stage this coup, 'fearing the precedent of covert actions by the US'. Eisenhower approved it in 1953.
NOTE: The Iranians mark the date on their calendar still (I don't if it is the official day he was overthrown, or the date of his death).

Diplomacy with a state sponsor of terrorism hasn’t succeeded and will never succeed. When they start blowing up oil tankers, the time for talk is over. Iran has set its own course and it will be death to Iran, not “death to America.”

You hear one thing from Trump's cabinet- and then you hear something else from our military leaders- and so far, they haven't ever been on the same page!

I would like our military leaders to either confirm what Pompeo and Bolton are claiming or tell us what the hell is really going on.

There are a lot of things one can say about Donald Trump- but I have kept up with Donald Trump for over 40 years, and he "Hates" any kind of war between the US and other countries. Trade wars, a war of words, insults, or hairdo's may be different- but a combative war? Hell no!

With only a year and a half to go, Trump's inevitable legacy is approaching rather quickly now, and he certainly does not want an unnecessary war- that could have been prevented to be a part of it.
