There's a preliminary figure suggesting the population fell since that figure came out, but that's possibly due simply to a change in methodology for the ACS that was just implemented, which would tend to push down the counted population in any area with a high percentage of people born abroad.

When I was young I loved living in N.O. The food, the music scene, availability of promiscuous women was something I couldn't get living in a rural area . I didn't mind the need to carry a handgun in my car for protection. The trade off was worth it.
Now? No way I'd live in a city where I felt the need to carry. Plus I want access to at least one ski mountain and acreage to do my gardening. I actually plan on living in a more expensive area than where I do now once I cash in my chips and retire.
