That's not true. One could write a best selling book, or simply live below one's means and make good investments.

Also, President Trump is notorious for over-inflating his wealth, and under-reporting it depending on the situation.

If he's bragging or hoping to secure a loan, he over-inflates his wealth. Such as when he began his 2016 campaign, it was widely noted that he over-inflated his wealth at the time.

If he is paying taxes, he under-reports the value of his assets in order to get a lower tax bill.

It is widely know that President Trump is a hopeless liar.
 
He was actually elected, I suppose, as a character on TV that the people in the backwoods felt they knew, but the theory was that he was a successful businessman. All I've heard suggests that if he'd just put his father's money in a bank (or under the bed?) he'd have been richer. It seems reasonable that, since he's in a position to murder millions, his competence in the field he claims should be examined, along with his honesty.
