I don't know where you're getting this idea that I hate you?
I don't hate you, I just don't think you're relevant and I definitely don't think you should be leading the Democratic Party.
For a generation, Boomers were content to tell the younger voters that their votes are welcome in the party, even though their ideas are not. Then the minute a Gen Xer was elected President, what did the Boomer Democrats do? Did they gravitate around him and lend them their support? FUCK NO. They actually campaigned against him in 2010 and were completely wiped out. They undermined the Public Option. They undermined the EFCA. They undermined closing Gitmo. They undermined every thing he tried to accomplish.
It was generational warfare, and it worked just as they wanted; they ripped control away from Obama and gave it right back to Boomers (Trump).
The Democratic Party does not succeed when it expands its tent so widely that it starts capturing Reagan Democrats.
The Boomers were successful at pushing the Overton Window so far to the right, that a Public Option was considered a radical idea.
