Democrats could win 40 House seats, the most since Watergate

Democrats have won at least 33 seats, but they look poised to win closer to 40 — there are 13 races that are either not called or too close to call, and Democrats have a solid chance of winning seven of those.

Democrats flipped seven governorships, six state legislative chambers, and more than 300 state House and Senate seats on election night.

Democratic wins in these 9 states will have seismic policy consequences

40 seats is a shit load considering that the party that currently controls the federal government and most state governments does not even pretend to respect democracy anymore, and does everything in it's power to suppress votes, gerrymander, subvert democracy, and thwart the will of the people.

In terms of their fierce hostility to democracy and to the will of the people, you could basically say the modern Republican Party is soul mates, comrades-in-arms, with Vladimir Putin, the Kremlin, Soviet Communists, Mao, and various and sundry theocracies and authoritarian rulers.

Kind of funny how democrats try to use "will of the people" to mean only democrats. There are actual conservatives and republicans, and the popular vote compact among blue states and jungle primaries are all about making sure their voices are not heard and votes don't count. That superdelegates can so heavily control who even gets the DNC nomination for POTUS is about disenfranchising its own voters.

Yes, they aspire to apartheid.

wut how could it be the most since watergate? Obama lost 63 house seats and 6 senate seats in 2010 right? dont you have to at least beat that?

2016: 3 million more Americans voted for the Democratic candidate over Trump.

2018: At least six million more Americans voted for a Democratic candidate over a Republican candidate. With votes yet to be counted

Which means Trump was not just rejected by actual living, breathing American voters in 2016, his base of support is shrinking in 2018.

Super delegates are no more, Einstein. Get a life!

Blue Wave Update: Red States Beg for Obamacare Expansion

Voters in three deep red states begged for an expansion of Obamacare this week. Obamacare's Medicaid expansion was arguably the most progressive element of the Affordable Care Act
Three deep red states vote to expand Medicaid

Citizen power propelled the biggest expansion of Medicaid in heavily Republican states since the early years of the Affordable Care Act, with hundreds of thousands of poor and vulnerable residents standing to gain health coverage as a result of Tuesday’s elections.

Voters in Idaho, Nebraska and Utah approved ballot initiatives to include in their Medicaid programs adults with incomes of up to 138 percent of the federal poverty line. The results accomplish a broadening of the safety-net insurance that the states’ legislatures had balked at for years.

The problem is the nanosecond-scale of the news cycle, and the expectation to rapidly declare a conclusion.
That business model for the news cycle is incompatible with the fact it takes a long time to count votes, and that many races were not called on November 6th. The size of the blue wave is becoming more obvious by the day as the votes continue to be tallied.

Despite Trump's denials, Democrats' election blue wave getting bigger and bluer by the day

There was a sense on election night that Trump and the GOP had somehow prevented a wave election. This prediction proved premature.

Donald Trump wants you to desperately believe that Tuesday’s midterms elections were a “Big Victory” for him and the GOP. But like so much of what Trump says, that’s simply not true.

The reality is that Tuesday’s election was truly a blue wave. In fact, it’s getting bigger and bluer by the day. Since election night, Democrats have picked up even more seats as close races become finalized in their favor. As of now, Democrats have officially picked up 33 seats in the House. And with nearly a dozen House races still too close to call, Democrats could pick up closer to 40 when all is said and done.

blue wave?

what blue wave?

LOL!!!!

The Republican party is trying to get all brown people out of it. They are at 90 percent and climbing.

The browning of America is what they fear .. and it's what Trump can not prevent ..

They've already lost the culture wars, now badly losing the gender wars.

They are so afraid of the black vote that they had to dig deep into the fraud and voter suppression bag to save the deep south from a takeover.

The sun is setting on the racist cowboy.

wut you guys are the ones who are now counting votes that "fell of the back of the truck"

So damn funny listening to republicans crying about voter fraud.

Republicans wrote the book on voter fraud and disenfranchisement.

The deeper truth however is that even in the deep south, Trumpism is failing .. and the wave that dooms them is the brown one that's already here.

So, now the House Pubs can flip the House Dems off just the way the House Dems did before to the House Pubs. Sweet.
