If it turns out that the GOP put people's names on this recommendation letter without their approval or knowledge, they should be investigated. In fact, the entire GOP/Trump nomination process needs to be dragged out into the open. Clearly, there was coordination among the GOP to forge (?) a letter to protect Kavanaugh ahead of any allegations made against him. So they knew of at least this incident ahead of time, and didn't bring it up in the hearing.
