Could you explain how because you aren't aware of what someone has personally sacrificed then that obviously means they have sacrificed nothing meaningful? You don't get to decide if what someone has or hasn't done is a sacrifice for them because clearly we all live our own lives and make our own decisions and either suffer or benefit from those decisions. Not up you to make that determination.

Point taken. Like I've said before, authoritarian power structures always roll this sort of thing out first onto more easily scapegoated vulnerable groups to acclimate the wider population to the concept that it is happeing at all before ramping/scaling it up to go after wider swaths of the citizenry. Although I do think you're being a tad generous with "thinkers".

When I see a display of fake patriotism -- the kind displayed by many at sporting events in America -- and spy someone sitting down but paying attention, someone mouthing other words, someone rebelling the GroupThink -- I know I've found a patriot.
