Yep. Most parents think of a 17-yo as a child, even though the law may say they're old enough to be tried as an adult, or to emancipate themselves, or seek out their own medical treatment, and so on. For that matter, I think of anyone under the age of 50 as too young for someone my age to consider as a sex partner.
