Why Trump Supporters Don’t Believe He Is Corrupt

Nah, my memory is just fine. I like you okay and think you're a good soul. You posted earlier that there is no proof of Trump's corruption. I responded with a dirty laundry list of his proven corrupt actions. Yes, we've discussed this before. You made a statement; I responded.

My response was not a personal attack on you. It was a list of his proven corrupt and illegal actions. It's kind of creepy though that you think I'm personally attacking you (for two years!) because I proved that Trump is a corrupt and criminal person. You're not related to him, right?

OK, I get it. I just disagree. I don't see any current corruption on his part.

Cohen’s admission makes it harder for Republicans to claim that Trump didn’t violate the law. But it doesn’t really matter. For many Republicans, Trump remains uncorrupt—indeed, anticorrupt—because what they fear most isn’t the corruption of American law; it’s the corruption of America’s traditional identity. And in the struggle against that form of corruption—the kind embodied by Cristhian Rivera—Trump isn’t the problem. He’s the solution.

Priceless: Another leftist telling all righties what they believe. Looks like....to me...…..if they had this power we would be kissing the ass of Queen Hillary as we speak. :laugh:

You will never understand Trump supporters. You don't want to understand Trump supporters

An anti-trump article by a left-wing apologist appearing in a left-wing outlet is not written for the right wing or Trump supporters except in the bizarro world of other democratic apologists who think their propaganda is "education".
This is an opinion piece I agree with, it to me explains why Trump supporters are so hypnotized by the lying, corrupt, administration. It is apparent it is true by their responses to this thread. Why are you squealing if it doesn’t represent you? It is not meant to be “education”, it’s an opinion piece. The bizarro world is Trumpland and the Trumpeteers.

This, from the article, sounds like so many here:

"Fox’s decision to focus on the Iowa murder rather than Cohen’s guilty plea illustrates Stanley’s point. In the eyes of many Fox viewers, I suspect, the network isn’t ignoring corruption so much as highlighting the kind that really matters. When Trump instructed Cohen to pay off women with whom he’d had affairs, he may have been violating the law. But he was upholding traditional gender and class hierarchies. Since time immemorial, powerful men have been cheating on their wives and using their power to evade the consequences.

"The Iowa murder, by contrast, signifies the inversion—the corruption—of that “traditional order.” Throughout American history, few notions have been as sacrosanct as the belief that white women must be protected from nonwhite men. By allegedly murdering Tibbetts, Rivera did not merely violate the law. He did something more subversive: He violated America’s traditional racial and sexual norms."
~~~
I have tried and tried to think of some presidential thing that Trump could do that would finally enrage his base enough to desert him. So far the only thing that comes to mind would be to keep his promise of "better, cheaper health care for all." Which is probably why he just dropped that and hasn't mentioned it since the campaign. Can you think of any others? Announce that the Wall was a dumb idea and would cost too much? Appoint a more left-leaning justice to the SCt? Come out in favor of Roe v Wade?
The article's summation also sums up what we see here every day. Thanks for posting it.
"Once you grasp that for Trump and many of his supporters, corruption means less the violation of law than the violation of established hierarchies, their behavior makes more sense. Since 2014, Trump has employed the phrase rule of law nine times in tweets. Seven of them refer to illegal immigration.
"Why were Trump’s supporters so convinced that Clinton was the more corrupt candidate even as reporters uncovered far more damning evidence about Trump’s foundation than they did about Clinton’s? Likely because Clinton’s candidacy threatened traditional gender roles. For many Americans, female ambition—especially in service of a feminist agenda—in and of itself represents a form of corruption. “When female politicians were described as power-seeking,” noted the Yale researchers Victoria Brescoll and Tyler Okimoto in a 2010 study, “participants experienced feelings of moral outrage (i.e., contempt, anger, and/or disgust).”
"Cohen’s admission makes it harder for Republicans to claim that Trump didn’t violate the law. But it doesn’t really matter. For many Republicans, Trump remains uncorrupt—indeed, anticorrupt—because what they fear most isn’t the corruption of American law; it’s the corruption of America’s traditional identity. You are such a fool. You can't even talk the talk,
No way you can walk the walk. Rana is a little beyond a "left-wing dingbat".
The inherent misogyny in that statement alone is enough to disturb a busload of therapists. Rana is only acting in love towards you.
You are such a sick twisted loser
oh please. now it's inherent misogyny?? what is that like- latent homosexuality? :dunno:
I swear you leftists have a condition for everything. How about if I think she really IS a LW dingbat?
(less emphasis on the dingbat part -more on the extreme LW politics)..
Here's the deal. Rana is a big girl, i'm a big boy. she can speak for herself -I can speak for me.
You need to learn to say something besides trolling.
Leftist find some meaning in labeling speech - i find the concept of defaulting to personal labels
a disservice to speech. there you go
Rana is a disciple of Darla, she thinks the Sun shine out of her arse and worships at her feet. That's why she rushes to Runeatic's defence and attacks you.
nobody compares to Darla!
The woman went apoplectic when I called Susan Rice/Powers & Hillary "Harpies of Libya"
She wasn't upset at the Libya part -just using the word "harpies" sent her into a tailspin
The Dems have only themselves to blame with their asinine identity politics, loony climate alarmism and support for illegal immigration. Many people in the UK, could not forgive Obama, or indeed Clinton by extension, for supporting the notion that we'd be at the back of the queue for a trade deal.
Obama had as much understanding of trade as he did about NKorea with his "strategic patience" -
kicking the can down the road to Trump.
NAFTA talks look close to an accord with Mexico..they are down to a few issues.
It's thought Canada will then sign on.
I still wonder why Obama said that about the UK-other then he's a globalist who thought we could never get manufacturing back here. - we did and it's back big time, growing good jobs
PS. what's up with BREXIT and Teresa May? are they getting anywhere?
That was nothing, the loathsome trollope called me a rapist, and my missus a suckee fuckee, because she comes from Thailand. Naturally Runeatic and Rana sided with her, loathsome creatures that they are.
Poor Gladys/Havana, he’s such an old gossip, maybe he should focus on his challenging Grind to a fight rather then dragging a poster who has long left the forum into a fray. It’s why I ignore him. He’s nothing but a troll these days, diminished to only groaning people because many ignore his gossiping foolishness.
I missed that part. she was a PC screaming banshee ( which also flipped her out when I called her that)
Yes I think so, Theresa May has finally grown a spine and stood up to the EU bullies. We have nothing to fear from a no deal Brexit. That arsehole Leo Varadkar, PM of Ireland, tried to threaten us with our planes not being able to overfly Ireland. Then somebody pointed out that the CAA controls North Atlantic airspace and no planes in the EU would be able to fly without us. That shut the little git up real fast.
do you see the irony here? to the bolded? Miss PC using a country of origion to slam your wife? loathsome indeed
