Alfie Evans now at peace

Bloody hell, that article is over 3 years old. Do you know that many companies over here offer private healthcare as part of the employment package? Probably not is my guess.

Why, if universal healthcare is so fucking great, do you need additional private care?

Thousands of patients are being denied “life-saving” breast cancer drugs which cost just 43 pence due to an NHS funding row, research has suggested.
Charity Breast Cancer Now estimates 27,000 women in the UK are being denied osteoporosis medication which can prevent breast cancer spread in the bone due to on-going uncertainty as to who is responsible for funding the medication.
Bisphosphonates are low-cost drugs which can strengthen the bone and prevent cancer spreading. Research has suggested they can reduce risk of cancer spreading within 10 years by 18 per cent and risk of death from the disease to 14.7 per cent.

Many don't need or use it. The NHS is excellent for emergencies but there is usually a waiting list for elective surgery.

It's no different here. My aunt is going to have knee replacement on Tuesday, 6-8 weeks from when she first saw the doctor.

Somerset child with rare cancer ‘left to die’ after NHS refused his treatment

A BOY who is the only person in the world to suffer from a super-rare cancer has been "left to die" – after NHS bosses refused to fund his treatment.

But when we got the news it was turned down, we were devastated. It really took us back.
"They said the chemotherapy would cost too much, and because of his unique condition our consultant couldn't give them a percentage of the likely success rate - that there is no guarantee.
"That doesn't make sense to me. Daryl will die if he doesn't get this transplant.
"The consultant said he has anything from two months left and he is getting really really tired - and that was five weeks ago.
"As far as I am concerned, the NHS has left my son to die."

I am sure that I could find any number of negative stories about the US health system but I can't see the point of indulging in willy waving.

I have not missed anything. The NHS has become the snake eating its tail. It’s become nothing but managed services not medical care. Impoverishing the middle class to pay for high wage jobs within its conglomerate of bureaucracy. Paper pushers determining life and death care based on odds or forecasted budgets!

What you won’t find is a hospital holding a child with no actual diagnosis hostage from care.

Yet the NHS has been voted the best healthcare system in the world in 2014 and 2017, by the Washington based Commonwealth Fund. It also puts the US at the bottom.

Have you ever heard of a child, with over 90% of its brain tissue destroyed, making a recovery? The poor mite had no brain left and wasn't even human anymore, can you show me one case of a brain self regenerating?
