Why is it always the critics who have to come up with the solutions? No matter what we say the pro-gunners will always default to the 2nd amendment to end the conversation.

Because the only “solution” is obvious. Draconian anti gun legislation leading to very restrictive, almost nonexistent gun ownership (by the middle class) just like they have in places like the UK or Australia.

You’re right, we’re sick (or whatever you said in your initial reaction in that first post on this thread...). But we’re not sick because of gun ownership. Did you read Mott’s post? What he said was spot on. In the 60’s and 70’s (even the 80’s when I was in high school) we had our guns in the racks in our trucks...they were everywhere in the open. It wasn’t as bad then. I carried a long gun (muzzle loader) onto my college campus in 1984 as a freshman and used it in my demonstration speech. I loaded it with black pepper but my instructor and I were the only ones who knew that. We need to find a way to restore that mindset...or ban guns.
