Trump: No Wall No DACA

The US has a National Clearing House for Checks, Credit Cards and Social Security ... but a Hodgepodge of State Run Voting Systems.

Voting Checks are Easy to do, if you really want to do it.

It is a solution desperately in need of a problem!

The Senate does favor the small population states...and is not the most democratic (small "d") institution ever assembled.

Well I guess it's lucky that we're a federalist republic and not a democracy. If you think the Senate and Electoral college are on unfair there is a constitutional solution to your problem.

but the EC reflects the bicameral makeup of Congress.

2 votes for being a state like the Senate, and proportional vote based on House seats..

The EC and Congress have the same makeup

I can live with the Senate...and did not bring that up.

But the Electoral College seems to bother Donald Trump. He seems to think that it favors the Democrats over Republicans...when in fact, it tends to favor the Republicans over Democrats.

Proof of the pudding is that with the Republicans are in the majority in both houses of Congress...and they could easily propose an amendment to do away with the EC. I don't see that happening.

Like I said...it would truly be bipartisan support...IF REPUBLICAN LEADERSHIP COULD GET ANY REPUBLICANS TO VOTE FOR IT. Most (perhaps all) would not, because the truth is that the EC greatly favors the Republicans.

Okay...I agree.

But so what.

Donald Trump says it greatly favors the Democrats over the Republicans...and in fact, it greatly favors the Republicans over the Democrats...NO MATTER WHAT.

It's not going to change...and I suspect there will many more occasions where a Republican will be elected president with fewer votes than the Democrat.

Donald Trump is still president...and no matter what, he won fair and square.

California has almost a population of almost 40,000,000 people and has 55 electoral votes.

why should California get electoral votes for people who are not allowed to vote?......

The conservative state of Wyoming...the definitely in the Republican column for president state of Wyoming...has a population of 600,000 people and 3 votes in the Electoral College.

Wyoming gets two electoral votes because its a state, just like California does.......it gets one electoral vote for its 600,000 people, which is the minimum # you can have...........sorry you weren't aware of how the electoral collage works......

why should California get electoral votes for people who are not allowed to vote?......

They shouldn't.

But just because you and people like Donald Trump are imagining that there are people voting who are not allowed to vote...doesn't mean the almost 40,000,000 people of California should be shortchanged in the EC.

I am aware of how the Electoral College works. I can even spell Electoral College correctly.

I am simply noting that the system causes the EC to be unfairly weighted toward the Republican Party...which is the reason that although the head of the RP claims the EC is unfairly weighted toward the Democratic Party...the Republicans in congress will not make any attempts to change things.

you aren't paying attention.......your EC votes are based upon numbers that include illegal aliens......it is irrelevant whether they are allowed to vote.....why should they counted toward how many votes (and congressmen) you get?.......

I am simply noting that the system causes the EC to be unfairly weighted toward the Republican Party...

but it is not......it is weighted exactly in the way that the founders of this country intended it to be be weighted....which is to balance out the rights of both the more populous and less populous states..at that point in time neither the Republican Party or the demmycrat party even existed, so it was not done "toward" either party......

Then you're a hypocrite they are proportioned exactly the same.

No it doesn't, we don't know what the popular vote would have been had that been the campaign that was run, republicans neither bother to run or vote in states like California, New York, or Illinois.

Okay...if you want to use population of the state registered to vote:

Wyoming has 284,000 registered voters...California has 18,200,000 registered voters.

Still ends up that instead of 55 electoral votes...California should have close to 200 in order for it to be fair.
