I'll never really respect the intelligence of true Trump supporters. I know how arrogant that sounds, but it's just a fact.

And, as I always say, that doesn't mean the folks who voted Trump because they truly couldn't stand Hillary. That's something I get.

I do agree on a certain level. They're all accountable.

But I at least can cut some slack to the ones who did some hand-wringing over it, and who see Trump's flaws. There is a whole group of millions out there who are not like that - who truly believe him and believe in him, and think he's wonderful. Those people are true idiots.

Indeed it did but that doesn’t change the fact that Trumps catering to a populist message and manipulating racial resentments of white working class voters with no underlying governing philosophy was a sale pitch formulated to appeal to the ignorant.

I do give large credit to Trump for outmaneuvering an out of touch and moribund GOP establishment but he was also aided by the rise of Sanders, an even worse candidate than Trump, and a Democratic Party that undermined the Democratic process and itself by choosing an unpalatable Hillary Clinton for us. Trumps enexpected win was the greatest example of a US politician out maneuvering his opponents since Lincoln won the GOP nomination in 1860.
