GQ Citizen of the Year 2017: Colin Kaepernick

I have always admired people with fierce integrity, people who value humanity and self-respect more than money.

Also too, I think that dude has some cool ass hair!

He has pubic hair on his head. Maybe that's why he's so frustrated.

I am sure Colin has far more money than you could ever hope to get turning tricks. It must really piss you off to find out that a black man is wealthy.

It must piss you off that without football he'd be just like the run of the mill unemployable black.

those are all elected officials by your lot

your list is bullshit

Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX 18) - Elected in a district that is gerrymandered over 90% minority. Couldn't get elected otherwise.

Maxine Waters (D-CA 35) - Elected in a district that is gerrymandered 84% minority. Couldn't get elected otherwise.

John Lewis (OD-GA 5) - Elected in a district that is gerrymandered 68% minority. Couldn't get elected otherwise.

Sanford Bishop (D-GA 2) - Elected in a district that is gerrymandered 56% minority. Couldn't get elected otherwise.

Jim Clyburn (D-SC 6) - Elected in a district that is gerrymandered 60% minority. Couldn't get elected otherwise.

And the list continues.

To be clear I'm not saying or suggesting you need to agree with him in what he talks about. I'm trying to understand it better myself and maybe you can offer some insight.

"I'd rather be on the cover of Forbes than GQ." ... That should have been your tell that this guy is simply jealous of Kapernick's spotlight.

Guess what homeboy, you're not on the cover of either .. nor are you accomplishing what Kapernick is doing within the community. As far as I can tell, all Jackson is doing is talking about how much better his way is than the ways of others .. who have accomplished much more than he has. I find no foundation on his name .. while Kapernick ..

Colin walks the walk, fine young man.

I've noticed a solid uptick in your negative references towards people of color.

It's always been there.

It's why I've been calling him out.

I saw right threw him from day one. He, along with cawacky and a few others were very comfortable being undercover racist because everyone one else on the board didn't see it.

Thanks for the response. What also intrigued me was his talk of diverting from capitalism (he spoke about not being in the stock market) building up black power and wealth and being in Forbes.

Any thoughts on how that co-exists? Creating black businesses and spending money at black owned businesses is not a new concept obviously. I'm somewhat, but not totally, lost in his vision

I did as well, his callous comments about native women repulsed me.
