Free college!

Colleges are already filled to capacity. How many new colleges will have to be built and when will they be ready to accept students for free? ... 10 years from now???

A free 12th grade education has done a lot for this country so a college education would even do more

Public education in liberal controlled cities produces graduates that can't read or write. Guess you get what you pay for :palm:

What high school did you attend?

Here in WA, we established a lottery in the 80s to generate funding for education. The funds are now directed to the general fund (which is a giant black hole of unaccountability), and, so, education is left looking for other means of revenue.

when you have to lie to try and create a fake reality it is just a lie

a much better idea is to find ways to escalate rising college costs.
many colleges are stashing money away even as the raise costs.

But Dems like "free stuff"and thats what they offer to the masses who have become conditioned to free stuff
and never worry about things like the debt

How exactly is it fake? There are remedial college writing classes now, because so many students arrive and haven't already been taught to compose a standard five-paragraph essay.

Dog whistling here! You know those people “ who like free stuff”

Here in PA, our then Democrat governor legalized gambling, saying the proceeds would cut property taxes. My property taxes have risen every year since...

Why colleges with billions of dollars still charge tuition
http://money.cnn.com/2016/11/04/pf/college/endowments-financial-aid/index.html

Donald Trump says the richest colleges could be charging you less for tuition, and punishing those schools is how he plans to tackle the rising cost of college.

He's not the only one questioning whether wealthy universities with big endowments are charging their students way too much money. A congressional committee is currently looking into the issue, asking the richest colleges to explain how much of their endowments are actually spent on students, in a way that lowers their tuition cost.

the more money they raise the more they spend -just like Congress.

The "free stuff" crowd seems mathematically challenged on this.

The #'s are easy. College graduates make over $1 million more over a lifetime than non-college grads. That's a lot of tax revenue.

Free college pays for itself a few times over - and that's not even counting the overall increases in the market & GDP. Don't be pennywise, pound foolish...think progressively.

It is also good for our nation as a whole educated it leads to better governance as well.

It's really hard to overestimate the positive impact, in so many areas. The immediate is the tax revenue, but who knows how much farther a more educated populace can take us - economically is obvious, but technologically, politically, socially, in medicine, etc. It's such a no brainer to me.
