Make no mistake: yesterday was all about Trump

The approval ratings don't lie - Trump is an extremely unpopular President, and he cost his party dearly yesterday.

What we're seeing today is just spin. By reading some of the posts here, I would think that VA was NYC, and solid left-wing territory. Many who were predicting a Gilly win or nailbiter are now playing it off and trying to say that he shouldn't have distanced himself from Trump and that it's no big deal that "a Dem won a Dem state".

The margin ended up bigger than even the most optimistic lefty would have guessed, and the other races added everything up to a much more ominous signal for the GOP. And if you read into some of the exit polls, the future looks even worse - voters under 45 went overwhelmingly Democrat.

Careful what you wish for: you wanted Trump to wreck the party, and he's doing it.

Virginia governor goes from Democrat to Democrat(Virginia has voted for Democrats in presidential elections; in 2016 Virginia was the only Southern state to vote for Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump.)

NY mayor goes from Democrat to Democrat

Do you see some unexpected results somewhere......even New Jersey results wasn't unexpected

and you claim its because of Trump ?....lol

Trying to ignore the districts around the country and the state senate surround the country that all flip from Republican to Democrat is dishonest

You have blinders on, there were races all over from local on up that democrats won. It was a trump disaster.

That's the exact talking-point spin I referenced in the OP.

NORTHERN Virginia is as loony tune left as it gets-same politics as DC and Maryland suburbs.

I do agree with you on the future-millenials are young and dumb, and have no concept of the
pursuit of happiness, instead looking for government guarantees

Its happens to be a fact......especially VA.....results were not unexpected at all.....it stays Democrat
80 to 90 % of non whites votes Democrat....are you surprised ?
DC and suburbs vote Democrat....are you surprised ?

Same with New York, Dems stay in power.....no upsets....

Ah, of course - anyone who doesn't agree w/ your vision of narcissist Trump-as-savior is "young & dumb."

I'm going to enjoy the next few elections immensely.

Again - that's the spin today.

Most on the right were predicting a Gilly upset win this time yesterday.

The District of Columbia is the only non-state to be enfranchised for presidential elections, gaining electoral votes through the ratification of the 23rd Amendment in 1961. That amendment gave residents of the nation's capital a share of electors proportional to its population (like the states), but limited it to no more electors than the least populous state. This meant three electoral votes in 1964, and that number has not changed. The vote here has always been heavily Democratic; no Republican has ever won an electoral vote. In the 2016 election..

I don't remember a Republican ever getting 10 % of the votes in DC......

No shit, Charlie Chan.....don't the left always predict a win for their side, same as those on the right....whats you point ?
