It's become so commonplace it's hardly noticed anymore

Murder is way down in the U.S. over the past quarter century so what are we not noticing?

Nothing like living in a society where there are more guns than people and access to those guns is as exerting as taking a stroll in the park

Thankfully the NBC Nightly News the other night showed photos of the victims and gave a brief description.

The stage now belongs to the Gunhumpers.... cue the NRA cards in 3.... 2.....1.....

Why do believe they show walmart victims but not inner city victims each night?

What the fuck are you going to do if you think I shouldn't own guns? Just as I thought, get on the web and whine like a little bitch but nothing otherwise.

I could care less if you own guns, enjoy your toys, I'm just pointing out the absurdity of guns in America, hopefully, down the road, there won't be as many antiquated individuals as yourself who think they need guns to define themselves

How many times have I been over this, common sense, your assuming causation, and there isn't any, there exists a list of variables that can explain the development better. an aging population with a disappearing crack epidemic for easy examples

That's a good point. My guess is that they think people will relate more to the victims of people just doing what we all do -- going to Walmart or to a music concert or to church -- and end up massacred. That being said, we moved away from STL last year (thank the gods). Every single night the local news covered all the shootings, murders, drive-bys, etc. It was getting to the point where people were being shot at on the highways *outside* of the city itself. I had something smash into my windshield one day on my way home from visiting youngest daughter in Illinois, on a major highway that passes through STL. There were no cars in front of me. I was in the farthest right lane on an eight-lane highway with a divider so it didn't come from a car on the other side. It was right in front of my face. Didn't go all the way through. Had to have entire windshield replaced. It looked exactly like a bullet had hit it, said the windshield technician. So glad to be out of that hell. A hell that millions of our fellow citizens live in and can not escape.

I grew up in Oakland so we saw a lot similar to what you described. Stuff like that is scary

Seriously, what the fuck? Do you think you're Davy Crockett or Jim Bowie?

There's been a huge drop in murders yet you say it's so commonplace we don't notice anymore. Yes it's true murder has been around as long as man but you think people should freak out more today than say in 1990?

It's horrible. Ironically, as a teenager I drove that same highway to work every day without an incident. Well, other than noticing that one day there were a lot of cop cars in front of a row house by my exit, handcuffed (white) people sitting on the curb, and cops carrying large pots of MJ plants to the curb too. Quite entertaining as well as shocking, in 1973. I saw a gal who worked at the company down the street from ours get purse-snatched one late afternoon as I was heading to my car. She wasn't shot, just dragged and scratched, and lost her purse. Today that area has been swallowed up by Cardinal Glennon Childrens Hospital and is not safe to walk at night.

Guns are still a far far lesser threat to you than cars. Why do you libs never complain about highway homicide?? Why don't you demand lower speed limits and a ban on text-driving? THINK
