With semi-auto, the trigger is released after every round is fired. With full-auto, the trigger stays squeezed while rounds are being fired until the shooter releases the trigger.

I haven't read all 377 posts but I am sure someone must have pointed out that you do not need a bump stock to bump fire a semi automatic sport rifle. This can be accomplished either hooking your thumb thru your pant belt loop and hip firing or by creating a hook with your thumb and forefinger, loosing holding the weapon against your should and pushing the weapon back.
