If the guy was able to sneak TEN WEAPONS into his room, I'm pretty sure a plaintiff attorney will allege that they did not, in fact, take "sufficient security measures".

Also, the threat of losing untold millions in a jury trial will usually cause most potential targets of lawsuits to settle out of court.

If something happens on your property that causes the death and/or injury of other people, even if they weren't on your property, youll be blamed for it by the injured parties or their families.
