The SPLC is a far-left outfit that flew under the radar till they got caught labeling Ben Carson and extremist and started labeling some conservative Christian organizations as 'hate groups' and then lumping them in with the Klan and the Nazis.

I spent a lot of time in Eastern European countries in the 90s; especially Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania and Hungary. Poles in particular hate Russians and Germans in equal measure.

They are both evil, but the media is determined to whitewash Antifa. I read a CNN article on them the other day that was a virtual puff piece. Any CNN 'journalist' could do what I did in the OP and research an Antifa group to see what they actually stand for instead of portraying them as 'misguided' anti-fascists.
They are radical revolutionaries that want to destroy our institutions. I actually think they aren't so dumb as to think there's a Nazi fascist lurking behind every tree---rather, I think they are using 'the rise of Trumpist fascism' as a pretext to further their agenda.

What you are doing is the very definition of being a Nazi-apologist. Even the presidential candidate of your own party, Mitt Romney, says they are in morally different universes.
Nazis, the Klan, and the far rightwing extreme are, and always have been more of a genuine threat to the fabric of American society, to lofty American ideals, than largely imaginary home-grown Stalinists ever were.
