We simply don't know all the facts, I personally don't see that he intentionally went to kill people. Looks to me like he panicked when the car was being attacked by baseball bats, pretty sure most would do the same.

I don't know why he would be driving at a high rate of speed on streets that were crowded with people. And then he fled the scene. That doesn't look good for him. He could have waited for the cops and then told them he lost control of the car because he felt threatened.

Maybe because the protestors were allowed to be there? I don't know, and it still doesn't excuse Fields for speeding, hitting a car and a person, and fleeing the scene.

I believe that. This is terribly sad. I read that her family tried to dissuade her from going to this because of danger. I don't see Heather as having violent tendencies. Her concerns (as with some) were a matter of the heart. I just wish that when she arrived at this mob scene, she'd have taken one good look around at others everywhere wearing masks, carrying weapons and signs with hateful messages and generally filled with rage...then just turned around and gone home. The whole thing was a powder keg with a short fuse looking to explode...not a simple peaceful protest. All of these groups are not looking for peaceful coexistence...they're looking for a fight. RIP Heather.

If he hadn't fled the scene I doubt he would have been alive to be honest, that crowd looked like they wanted to tear him limb from limb. The Germans have the right idea shutting down websites that incite violence. With their history of the Thirties and the clashes between Fascists and Communists they know full well where all this can lead.
