More Troops to Afghan

Did you support the disastrous withdrawal?

Why would you think this withdrawal would be any less disastrous? Do you really think Trump wants to stay there just for jollies of it?

It was the BUSH time table for withdrawl idiot.

you forogt that huh fuckinstien

Probably a mixture of both.

Either way, they are 400k troops who won't be available to fight NK after the Trumptard in Chief escalates his war of words with bowl head into a war of bullets and bombs.
we are pretty redundant ready with our missions. I doubt you want a reply here so .....

I did support withdrawal, and I still would.

Places like Iraq & Afghanistan are decades-long commitments - complete with NATION BUILDING - if we really want to create stable governments that have military forces of their own for security, and do not need American help. Iraq was set up for failure the minute we invaded.

Which is why we on the left tried telling you in 2003 - while you were too busy calling us traitors & terrorist sympathizers - that war is a Pandora's box of negative possibilities, and should ONLY be engaged in as a LAST RESORT, when all other options have failed, and when American's national security is being immediately & directly threatened.

You have stated that you "learned" since then. Show that you have.

Am I unwittingly supporting regime change or invasion? No.

Am I supporting the SAME MISTAKE we made in withdrawing prematurely from Iraq and allowing for ISIS to take over? No.

That would be you.

Glad you're so willing to commit a generation or 2 of young men & women to a dangerous situation where many will likely get killed, for a very uncertain outcome that might literally be decades away.

Or because Trump can't win, he abandons, anyway.

You seem to be the one who hasn't learned anything.

Tillerson is saying we will "condition" support for Paki based on their approach. regional effort w/India
Afgh can choose it's own government as long as it does not choose terrorism.

"clear and hold" remains the same . "build" is up to Afghan - but of course Tillerson is optimistic

It is just refreshing to see a US President taking the lead again.
Might makes right when dealing with terror and bad players.

When was it again Kim Jong was going to lob missiles at Guam

So what, Obama was the president and he was supposed to be in command. Circumstances change and he could easily have left a rapid reaction force behind to deal with insurgencies.

Yes we have learnt that leaving somewhere like Afghanistan to its own devices will end up with it being occupied by Daesh Mark II with 100% certainty. Do you want a new war with Pakistan?
