In the upcoming CNN special, Fareed Zakaria correctly identities that Trump's win had almost zero to do with policy and almost everything to do with spoiled whites (having dominated America since its inception) being afraid/jealous of having their culture taken from them by immigrants and increasingly-more-successful blacks. He also identifies how Trump discovered and channeled the conservative rage of having the first black president into political success via the birther movement.

Zakaria puts it more politely, but the message is the same, and I don't want to sugarcoat it out of a sense of political correctness.

Interesting as I recently posted an article gives validity to Zakaria's report.

Economic Anxiety Didn’t Make People Vote Trump, Racism Did
New data provide a compelling answer to this vexing question.

Of course, they are reporting the obvious .. but it's telling that they now openly speak to the underlying racism in this country.

I read some of the link, too long to read the whole thing.
But what I first noticed is the article only give two reasons for voting for Trump- economic anxiety and racism. Way too simplistic.
Other reasons would include a vile hatred of hrc (if my only choice were hrc and Trump and a gun were pointed to my head and forced to vote for one or the other it would have been Trump), and the perception of the dem and Republican Parties as catering to elitists (Trump is no Republican, he's just trump). But sure racism was one.

I agree with that.

Angry, paranoid, low-educated whites definitely make up the majority of Trump's core of support.

One of Trump's campaign goals was to provide a safe space for people who are traditionally considered racist. People who traditionally didn't vote.

so the racists in these counties turned out for a black person but when it was a white woman on the ballot they did not ?

Obama ran after eight years of GW "Mission Accomplished" Bush.

Of course he got a high turnout.

Hillary ran after eight years of a fellow Democrat. It has historically been very difficult for a person from one party running after two terms of a fellow party member to win a national election.

Americans always think they want change.

With Trump, they want it already.

I think his real goal is to pander to whoever likes him the most.

I doubt he gives a shit about what people want or ever even thinks about it.

The only thing that's on his mind is how popular he can make himself with the idiots who voted for him.

If you were going to "sugarcoat" it, how would you go about that?

Love the democrat parties new messaging. "Hey we think you are racist crackers but here is some welfare for ya"

Good luck with that

There's also the theory of Hilary continuing the Black mans' agenda so whites, especially white men, hated her.

I mean since were throwing out nonsense post and such.
