[h=3]‘It’s Blackmail’: Joe and Mika Reveal How White House Threatened Them With National Enquirer[/h]
One of the more fascinating revelations that has come as a result of President Trump‘s vulgar tweets toward Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski yesterday, was the allegation that the White House threatened Mika and her co-host Joe Scarborough with a negative story planned by National Enquirer.

This stunning claim was first revealed in a Washington Post opinion piece published this morning — that was co-written by the morning show hosts– and strongly suggests that, under President Trump’s direction, the Morning Joe co-hosts felt pressure to somehow do right by the White House, and in exchange the story would be spiked.
On today’s riveting “interview” with the co-hosts — who delayed a planned vacation so that they could address this story — Joe and Mika went into great detail about this remarkably unsettling episode, which if true, raises remarkably significant questions about the White House’s relationship with a free press.

The National Enquirer is the premier title of American Media, Inc., which is based in Boca Raton, fairly close Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, and is owned by David Pecker, who is a close ally of the president.

If true, the details shared by Scarborough of how senior administration officials alleged pressure on both he and Mika, and how National Enquirer reporters hounded Brzenzki’s family members (even the children!) should send shivers down the spine of anyone who believes in a society that can openly criticize elected officials without fear of reproach.
It is difficult to predict how any news narrative will evolve under a Trump administration, but one gets the sense that when the dust settles around Trump’s anti-Mika tweets, this part of the story will continue to be dissected.

The New York Daily News on Thursday previewed its Friday cover, decrying the national “humiliation” of President Trump’s attacks on “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski.“Humiliation,” the main headline reads, over a photo of a bald eagle bowing its head in front of an American flag.

“Trump’s new low: sexist face-lift rant vs. TV host,” the secondary headline adds.
Trump unleashed a wave of new accusations of sexism and cyber bullying on Thursday, with an early-morning tweet criticizing Brzezinski and claiming she was “bleeding” from a “face-lift.”

The slam from Trump triggered an almost-instant avalanche of criticism. A slew of GOP lawmakers spoke out against Trump’s online remarks, with House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) calling them not “an appropriate comment.”

MSNBC decried Thursday’s Trump tweets as a form of “bullying,” saying in a statement, “It’s a sad day for America when the president spends his time bullying, lying and spewing petty personal attacks instead of doing his job.”

The Inquirer made its name on fake news about Aliens and such, Rump's go to!

yes it was so horrible for them then that they didn't come forward

much like Comey

Funny how these people always have these stories AFTER the fact.

Isn't extortion aka "blackmail" a felony?

Shouldn't Trump be arrested and criminally charged?

How much longer is this thug's crime spree going to be allowed to continue????

Doing it and there being enough evidence you did it to convict are two different things. That being said, if Joe has evidence I think the Special Prosecutor should investigate, it would take getting Previus to testify that Rump told him to do this.

Sounds more like bribery by the WH staff to me, not blackmail. If it is true the the Inquirer is planning a story and the President quashes it, I feel that would be misuse of power (or undue influence, not sure, not a lawyer) and trying to suppress the 1st amendment; tread carefully.

lol.....Joe and Mika "reveal"......and lib'ruls are stupid enough to believe them......

I watched their pity party this morning they said this happened at the beginning of this year. Given their downright expressed hatred of The Donald do you really think they would have waited until now to expose this?

They were very butt hurt today and I loved it. They kept saying "we are OK" but Mika can't hide her emotions. She looked like she did the day after Hitlery lost

I hope it's a crime. I want that fucker gone so bad. He has zero respect for the job and really seems to be trying to look bad. How does an adult choose to do what he's doing?

I love the "he's getting his message out" that supporters cite for supporting his inane tweets. Hooray for Trumps messages! I know my life is improved by every word! Seriously, he's trolling news show hosts and bringing up personal bullshit that has nothing to do with the job that idiot is hired by us citizens to do. STFU and GBTW you fucking asshole, Trump
