But bigoted generalizations about a group misses the point. What's different about the democrat official's comment is he was perfectly justified in his mind in making it. This goes beyond the standard 'your party sucks' partisan bickering: there's a not-insignificant minority on the left that think republicans will destroy the planet. I'm not being hyperbolic---they REALLY think that.

Many of them actually believe Trump clears his Tweets with the Kremlin before hitting send. If you are unstable and you think the president is committing treason and getting away with it---well, you can connect the dots. You can see the level of derangement in Resistance protests. This ain't the Tea Party.

Some of these people are nuts and, apparently, dangerous.
