The congressional seat has been won by the Republican by an average over OVER 30% margin for decades now. Decades. Trump was a polarizing figure, but it doesn't change the fact that the '16 Congressional race there was still a landslide for the Republican. Those races are local.
As I've said all along, '18 will still be a shellacking for the GOP in the House. I'm not sure if the Dems will actually win a majority back, but they'll come close. The Senate is tougher logistically in '18. I actually expect the Dems to lose 1-2 seats there, which will still be pretty bad news for the GOP given a near-historic opportunity that they have in the Senate that year.
Just as I thought you are ignoring the reality of the district and you are walking back your earlier 2018 predictions.
