its not soley about Trump though. In all other political assassinations in the past the shooter targeted a specific person. This is unique. Being a Republican office holder was enough to earn the ire of the Democrat assassin.

Its like they have declared all Republican office holders need to be eliminated.

Of course if the Democrat had succeeded then there would have been a lot of special elections with multiple opportunities for Democrats to grab more power.
 
I'd say yes, and it goes beyond mere rhetoric like 'republicans suck' or whatever.

If you are convinced Trump is working for Putin, or by pulling out of the Paris climate accord he's going to destroy the planet or etc, certain actions that would normally be considered immoral begin to take on a different view.

Granted, the vast majority of lefties would never act on it, but it's a numbers game. If there are 20 million rabid Trump haters but 'only' 1/10,000 are unstable enough to take violent action---then you're looking a potentially dangerous environment.

true. Treason and destroying a planet would allow for assassination.

The democrats then normalized the violence and worse made it noble by cheering on katie griffith, antifa, and the various other groups either calling for or actually doing violence against republicans.

Clearly, the Socialist Democrats have decided to adopt ISIS terrorist tactics, and they are getting the message out to their liberal supporters. ... The stabbing of Trump, the beheading of Trump, and now the random shooting of Republicans at a ball game.

I think it is worse than that. When ISIS kills someone there is a personal tragedy as always but it stops there. When you Assassinate a politician you then have a special election and get a chance to fill his seat with one of your guys.

Remember this guy was not after a specific person. He was after any Republican officeholder. In fact if successful he would have eliminated multiple Republican officeholders If as Democrats say Trump is under the thumb of Putin and is destroying the planet then it would be noble to do something to get more of your people who will resist in power.

More than a random act of violence it is an attempt to use assassination to have more power switch to your side.

The left's behavior lately is inadvertently (to them) causing more and more rational people to abandon the dim party. Presently they are the party of Antifas, super predators, trannies, and other anti-social disaffected.
More and more will abandon them leaving only the hard core extremists whose next step is terrorism as a last resort to resist. We will see 'progressive' suicide bombers in the future. You heard it here first. Bookmark it.
I'm hoping for a left leaning libertarian party to eventually take the democratic party's place.

If the Assassin killed two senators the GOP would have lost its majority and all legislation stopped till they were replaced. It sounds like an effective tactic if you are resisting people out to destroy the planet.

I think you are giving this guy way to much credit for the ability to think like that. I certainly see your point, and it is a good one. I think this guy was just a easily influenced idiot.

He did not target senators specifically. He just targeted Republican officeholders. After all any that is replaced by a Democrat makes the resistance against Trump and the GOP stronger.

McVeigh was, pretty much, a one off 20 years ago, Doc. And a highly decorated war veteran with an diagnosed case of PTSD, imo.

How often do conservatives riot and loot in the streets?

Even ball game riots are violent liberal socialist college kids and millenials.
