Should America switch to sharia law?

Why not?

Several states are already on board with the death penalty, the means of execution is neither here nor there. Many people in the US would subscribe to the biblical doctrine of an eye for an eye, so chopping off hands of thieves and that would be ok too, presumably.

Take out the drinking thing and the pork dilemma and you're pretty much there already.

Of course women will simply have to get used to not driving or voting. Gays must grow wings and learn to fly. Other than that, we're all good.

After studying many American elections i came to the conclusion that women and gays don't really matter, hence the oversight.
 
I don't know a lot about Shariah Law, other than that it will never come to America. What could come to America is a dictatorship or oligarchy. Trump, for example, is trying to dismantle (and certainly wants to dismantle) the checks and balances that would prevent a Russia or similar type of government. It does not happen over night. People give away their freedom and often vote for dictatorships (see Turkey). I do think that many Trump supporters would opt for a dictatorship if Trump or someone like him was the dictator. And that's damned scary.
